Worse than that. Interior isn’t funded. So all the Americans headed to federal parks for Christmas just had their plans cancelled. Plus the Smithsonian, the national monuments, etc. While Trump golfs and the secret service guards him, but does not get paid. It does not get any more “let them eat cake” than that.

Remember the 2013 shutdown where the 90 year old WWII vets were not able to see the memorial? Now imagine if on top of that, it was peak tourist season in lots of the national parks. And Obama was in Hawaii golfing and ignoring the problem. And was proudly calling it the obama shutdown. The blowback will be ugly.

I thought the Rs were so mad about that they made some special rule that parks wouldn't be closed off during a shutdown. It resulted in lots of damage to parks, since there were no Rangers keeping people in line.

I think he will probably sign something tomorrow night, but only if the House passes something to give to him. So far, the House doesn't know what their doing. And the Senate has already left town.

Obama wouldnt sign it because it wasn't a clean budget but revoked Obamacare. Americans like Obamacare; he was absolutely right not to let Republicans put poison pills in the budget.

This. Obama had the concerns of the people to consider. This is a selfish move for Trump’s ego. Besides, stiffing the people protecting / working for him is what he has done for years.
