Agree. Just because coaches agreed to finish out the season doesn’t mean they will stay long term. They’ll have better options for next year.

Loudoun has their’s down to the gray teams on their website. Vienna released their full slate on Facebook. You know, 2 of the closest clubs geographically to GFR. But, hey, keep defending clowns.

If you don’t have a TD, or an ED, or a DOC, who is hiring coaches? A rec Dad larping as a travel coach, and now larping as a Director? You don’t just snap your fingers and have a TD/ED in place, especially when you let go of 2 (at least) reasonably qualified ones in under a year.

They lost more than three last year and I have heard Loudoun has been plucking coaches for next year. When you fire your directors (deservedly or not) and replace them with rec parents you can bet coaches will want out.

This is why we have stayed at our current club for years (multiple kids). Is it a perfect club? No. Does it have issues? Yes. Are my kids happy and developing with the club? YES and YES

This is true. The problem at GFR right now is the board is trying to get rid of all of the good coaches and there are a ton of question marks about the current slate and no one knows what's going on. The communication has been all over the place and you have one coach telling you he's coaching the team next year and then another telling you NM, etc. are coming back once RS is given his role back. It's very hard to feel comfortable committing to play for a club that is so disorganized and has so many question marks right now. Hoping for a resolution before tryouts end and to have our old coach(es) back....

Right but our answer is NO. Needs new team, zero growth this year and DD is unhappy about awful coaching and very imbalanced team. Don’t care about league but need competitive team with great coaching and decent teammates in MoCo. There is none for this age group. It’s really frustrating. So bear with some of us who vent on this forum!!
