College and University Discussion
Y'all are really grasping at straws. The state of Arizona is in fact in the Sun Belt and has always had a Southern vibe of big trucks, country music, belt buckles, cowboys boots, and horses. Those Arizona State sorority girls are obviously leaning in and mirroring the SEC deep south aesthetics because it's wildly trendy right now.

They’re also cheap compared to a lot of smaller colleges. |
Because first and foremost it's fun? And also, Greek life is competitive and selective. They are battling for the prettiest, sweetest, most stylish and top disposition gals in every new incoming freshman class. It argue clearly goes further and drives high school applications during application season. Don't kid yourself, these flagship colleges love it because it's driving applications and alumni gift giving |
This chart doesn’t really say that…it includes California all the way to what looks like SF. So, you think SF, LA and SD also are southern cities with a southern vibe? I don’t think most people who live in NM and Arizona identify with the southeast too much. |
Actually what I am seeing is that the majority of parents don't have enough money to fund a sorority (or fraternity), so these houses have to really advertise to keep their numbers up. If they were really exclusive girls would be flocking to them with no videos. |
Bless your hearts but some of y'all are thick. The girlies in the videos at ASU... Arizona... UT-Austin... Texas A&M... SMU... LSU... Bama Ole Miss... UGA and Clemson and USC... Vandy and Kentucky... Florida State... all have the same Southern belle country music conservative cowgirl country club and horses aesthetics. |
The rich are richer than ever. You're clueless and seething with envy. |
| It’s been really weird on dcum lately, feels like a lot of newbies found it. |
Is that what an influencer on TikTok told you? Must be true.

There have been waves of dumbing down over the years. MAGA trash that got kicked off other platforms is my guess. |
Yik… Whatever the school, whether in the South or the North, I would not let my kids go near this type of club (not that they’re interested in it anyway). Professional clubs that compete based on intellectual or other skills rather than appearance are fine. |

“Well-bred”? Ewww! Are you talking about livestock? It also sounds quite “eugenics-sy”. Also, my daughter is in a sorority at UVA, and has a 3.9 GPA. I am pretty sure she is not there searching up frat boys’ family trees. The kid can have all the “genes” in the world, but a doofus will always be a doofus. |
