This guy is quoting a daily TABLOID owned by Rupert Murdoch. It’s true that many students can’t afford the colleges in the Northeast. Another reason students are going South is for the beaches! Yep, the South is getting the cream of the crop from the North.

1. The number of Northeastern students going to Southern colleges has nearly doubled in the last 20 years.
2. Southern R1s are more selective than ever.
3. Northern R1s are juking their acceptance rates and enrollment with foreign students.

The facts rattle you, so you attack the messenger.

More Sorority Mom math.

Don't let facts get in the way of your envy and seething at fun, cute and happy overachieving sorority gals at Southern universities. Top undergraduate colleges feeding U.S. medical schools:

#2 UT-Austin
#3 U of Florida
#7 Texas A&M
#9 UGA
#10 UNC
#14 UT-Dallas
#15 U South Florida
#16 UVA
#20 U of Central Florida
#21 Emory
#23 Arizona State
#28 Baylor
#31 LSU
#32 Florida State
#34 U of Arizona

Oh no, Sorority Mom also doesn't know how to read tables.

Those are schools with the largest # of med school applications, not matriculations. Those aren't "feeders", just very large schools.

Looks like just under half of UT-Austin applicants will be accepted to med school:
https://www.texadmissions.com/blog/2023/7/27/applying-for-pre-med-to-ut-austin

Compare that to 90% at Middlebury:
https://www.middlebury.edu/teaching-learning-research/student-resources/health-professions/prospective-students

Womp womp.

Tiger mom is seething. First these southern universities are full of unmotivated hicks and mouth-breathers... now they only dominate medical school admissions because they're just so darn big! Your Middlebury stat is juked by pushing kids out of pre-med so they never apply in the first place. But I hope your kids enjoy college in the middle of nowhere Vermont, with grey skies and snow 80% of the school year. And graduating from a college 99.9% of the country has never heard of. Yes, yes, we know dear, it's super high ranked on your tiger mom message board rankings!

Amen gal! Sounds like you know where you want to be. Stay away from those swots!

LOL. They don't "dominate" -- most aren't getting in to any med school at all.

"Tiger mom" - is that some kind of racist dig?

Don’t confuse rush with pageants, that makes you look ignorant. If it’s not about looks, where is the jealousy coming from?

Rushtok is a big and seriously no shade to young women forming community and having fun but I’m so sick of influencer culture. Brands sponsoring houses, members name dropping brands in ootd posts, the pressure to have a perfectly curated, glossy, sm brand.

Not at all unique to sororities but obviously apparent here, too.

Some women have come out of this as big influencers with a large social media followings. I don’t hate the players but I’m so over the game.
