No, I am not. I didn’t even have a color in mind when citing these great people. This post, unfortunately, speaks for yourself. Change starts from within. Focus on more civility in your home rather than worrying about how I spend my own money for my own children. |
Frederick Douglass? Oprah Winfrey? You are a pathetic liar. |
Wherever Asian students get bumped to, TJ follows them there. |
Being stuck in a posture of inferiority is a choice. Your language is forgiven. |
You are engaging in wishful thinking. If you don't like the word intelligent because you think it is some sort of immutable trait, then replace that word with academic ability or whatever word you use to describe the ability developed by a lifetime of dedicated study and learning. Go to any selective college outside HYPSM+Columbia and there will be a pretty stark gap between the academic ability of URM students and unhooked non-URM students. The HYPSM schools admit not only their share of URM students but the rest of the IVY+ share as well so that by the time you get down to places like Cornell, the gap i academic achievement is almost insurmountable. I'm not sure how this manifests itself i a randomly selected student body but I wouldn't be surprised if the random selection makes the gap smaller. |
And yet you would support policies that would categorize students based on their race. It is this race based selection that creates the large achievement gaps that we see at most selective schools between URMs and nonURMs. |
Are they less entitled to the things they earn because they had privileges in life? |
I guess when you realize that you have no valid argument you resort to lies. |
There is zero race-based selection. TROLL |
The whole process was driven by a desire to racially balance TJ. They had been trying to do it for years and BLM protests gave them the opportunity to do stupid things without opposition. |
It is a race aware admission that excludes Asian students from participating in the 100 expanded seats quota. Facts matter, and speak for themselves. |
East asian here and I don't begrudge the Indians anything they've earned. Their kids work harder than my kids. One day when the Indians get fat and happy and the next wave of immigrants come and bump out the Indians, I will fight the Indians if they try to suppress the new immigrant group but I am almost positive they will not. |
FCPS says a TJ class is overwhelmingly dependent on Asian students for their stem expertise. |
The biggest lie is your entitlement is based on your color. Period. |
They do? Do you have a cite? TJ parent here and one thing this lottery has done is it has admitted a wide range of asians. Asians are not universally smart. You have to select fore that otherwise you get AAP levels of bright but that's about it. Just looking at the NMSF from TJ, 23 out of 81 kids have non-asian surnames. The proportion of asian NMSF is usually higher. They aren't just selecting less capable non-asians. They are selecting (on average) less capable asians as well. The lack of standardized testing is making it a real crap shoot. The top 25% of students are really competitive but that number was over 50% before. On the plus side, it's easier to be at the top of the class. |
