Why did they need Amber in a “sting operation” at all? Scott never confessed murder to her like they planned so what was the point of the calls? The cops were creeps who had zero interest in Laci once Amber Frey came around. Oh and she was banging a police detective and dating him during this investigation as soon as she came forward because of course.
They ignored all the other tips from the older men and women in the community about Ladi but their ears perked up about Ambers tip. He told her lies about being in Paris because he’s a cheating idiot but what was he to say? Hey, by the way, my wife is missing and I’m a suspect. He told her he wasn’t married anymore on December 8th and the state claims he planned to run away to be with Amber yet he never did. It’s disgusting to Laci that the cops focused on Amber more than her. Scott wasn’t as obsessed with Amber as the cops were |
So the contention is that Laci was kidnapped by the burglars, held for weeks until she gave birth and then, she and Connor were killed and their bodies dumped in the bay? |
The cops wanted a sordid sex tale and were obsessed with Scott’s sex life and jealous of him that they ignored the tips from the not as attractive elder Modesto residents who all saw Laci walking the dog. They really could’ve found Laci alive if they did their due diligence. The first thing out of the burglars mouth before they were even asked was they had nothing to do with the missing woman. That’s super suspicious and a red flag. They came forward to clear themselves but yet their home and van was never searched and when sentenced to jail for burglary, one of the guys bragged in prison to another guy that he did argue with Laci that morning because she crossed the street to confront them |
Everyone suspected the husband and then when news of the girlfriend broke it was game over. Were you even aware of this at the time it was happening? |
There’s some criminal chick named Deanna Renfro (she even was Facebook friends with one of the burglars). She also knew the Medina family, the family that was robbed. The Medinas left for LA on the morning of Dec 24, and an hour later the burglars arrive to rob the house. In the house, a safe with over 50,000 in cash is robbed along with jewels. It’s not explained why there’s 50k in cash in that house, but when Scott’s defense wanted to test the safe for Laci’s fingerprints or hair, the Modesto police “destroyed the safe”. It was never found. Deanna Renfro pawned Lacis watch on December 31, 2002. She knew the burglars, the homeowners, owned a van, had an extensive criminal history along with her burglar buddies, and the cops didn’t interrogate her for anything and the burglars didn’t give up her name either as the link who told them about the Medinas. A police officer reported an unidentified woman swiftly ran into the police station some time after Dec 27th and threw the Medina jewelry on the counter and ran away. |
The cops and media also ruined Gary Condit’s career when they found out he was dating/having an affair with Chandra Levy. It turned out a criminal perp in the park did it and it had nothing to do with Gary Condit. If he weren’t a Congressman, he would’ve 100% gone to jail for her death |
NP here. I’ve watched 2 of 3 parts of the Peacock series and I’m still not able to get where they’re going with this even though I’ve tried to go into it with an open mind that maybe something was overlooked. They made a big deal that according to the prosecution a neighbor found the dog on its own and put it back in Laci’s yard around 10:18 (apparently based on a mall receipt). And then there are a bunch of people interviewed who saw her walking the dog in the morning “sometime between 10-11.” I don’t really see how this conflicts because I’m sure people don’t 100% remember what time they saw her and the mall receipt only gives a ballpark of when the neighbor put the dog in the yard. But the show makes it out that if someone reported seeing Laci with the dog after 10:18 am then Scott couldn’t have done it?? And then some elderly lady talks about the dark skinned men with a van she saw across the street in the neighbor’s yard. But the men arrested for the robbery look … not very dark skinned to me. So far all I’m really “learning” from this show is that there are a bunch of eye witnesses who report seeing things that cannot even be verified like this is some sort of aha, but can you imagine how many tips have come in from so called eye witnesses, which are notoriously unreliable. And further how does the exculpate Scott? I’m hoping this becomes clearer in the third episode. |
^And I’ll add I don’t find Scott’s phone interviews very helpful to his case. He comes off as sort of somewhat condescending like oh how silly for people to think XYZ.
He feels bad for the people thinking his voicemail was overly sweet and trying to throw off the investigation because they must have bad marriages. (As if his is so amazing while he’s banging some other chick). Then *of course* he only had 10k and his brother’s ID on him because his brother prepaid cash to buy his truck (on some other date?) and he was going to try to “scam the golf course” to save on out of county fees. |
Jealous of him?! Please. He was a big nothing. Is this supposed to be Websleuths? It's bizarre that you care this much and admit that you could even stan for Brian Laundrie. Most likely OJ Simpson, Chris Watts and Brian Kohlberger are innocent too. Occam's Razor. Look into it. |
Gary never went to jail or trial. He looked a little suspicious but nothing legal came of it. How is this similar? |
Why would a policeman be jealous of a fertilizer salesman? |
His career was destroyed because the Pearl clutchers assumed he killed Chandra because he was having an affair. Sordid behavior is bad but it does not necessarily equal to murder. Chandra and Laci are both from Modesto, CA. DC police didn’t find the perp who actually killed Chandra until 2009. He was deported back to El Salvador. The cops ignored all leads or eyewitness reports about him fleeing the park area because the juicier and sexier tale was more appealing. If Gary Condit was a regular average Joe, the police would’ve arrested him but because he’s a Congressman, they didn’t. |
Have you seen what the Modesto cops look like? In the A&E doc on YouTube, one of the fat slob detectives says he asked women around him what they thought of Scott Peterson’s looks and he was told by women he was a handsome man and the cops said their first impression was he was “smooth” and charming.. I don’t see anything smooth or charming about Scott but I guess giving a cop a glass of water is smooth and charming. This was days after Laci’s disappearance during the search parties when the cop asked the women around what they thought of how Scott looked. I’m not sure why the cops were even asking this irrelevant question |
What does Modesto have to do with it besides being a coincidence? Wasn't Comdit questioned in Washington, DC? That's where the murder took place |
