This is alarming. There is absolutely no reason for this man to be out of prison.

After watching the entire three episodes of this documentary, I am convinced that Scott killed Laci along w/his unborn son. 💔
Even though there was no DNA evidence linking him to the crimes, I find his behavior after she disappeared extremely odd.

It’s like he already knew that Laci + his baby were never returning home.

Thus wanting to sell their house.
Also why would he have sold Laci’s car??!

I find him guilty primarily based on two things:

• He told his GF, Amber Frey that his wife was “lost” on Dec. 9th so it is pretty clear to me that he was already planning Laci’s demise ahead of time.

Also:

• It cannot be a mere coincidence that Laci and Conner’s bodies were found 90 min. away so close to where Scott claimed to have gone fishing the day Laci went missing.

I mean, c’mon.
The mere fact that the location was 1.5 hrs. away AND they were found……or rather washed up……so close to where Scott went fishing 🎣 is just too obvious.

Will conclude the docuseries later on tonight when my Aunt comes over so we can watch it together.

I remember how everyone jumped to the assumption of him being guilty once it came to light that he was in an extramarital affair.
I admit - I jumped on that bandwagon too.

Now I am trying to watch the docuseries w/a more open + mature mindset.

I attended a Women’s Bible Study (in-home fellowship) at Scott Peterson’s older brother’s home in 1999-2000 where his SIL Janey was the leader in San Diego.
The home was lovely, they were living in it rent-free from his Dad.
Janey was very down-to-earth and her two sons (Elementary aged at the time) were extremely well-behaved for their age.

I haven’t spoken to their family since ‘00 when I stopped attending the Bible studies (due to college scheduling) but I heard through my church group that later on Janey became an attorney in order to help Scott.

They have long since moved from the house & thankfully no lookiloos ever drive by it.
It helps that the house is on the edge of a suburban culdesac.
My parents still live across the st.

In the docuseries I see that Janey is featured and that she is still standing by Scott.
I always liked her and found her not only a great Christian role-model for our church but also very levelheaded as well so am trying to be fair.

However certain things this doc shows have not painted Scott in a positive light.

The documentary has given me a renewed interest in this case so I asked some people at my church today (Horizon Christian Fellowship) what ever happened to Janey Peterson’s family & I was told that shortly after Scott’s conviction that they moved to another city and didn’t tell anyone what city however it is assumed they are still in CA.
Janey + her husband left our church around the same time and sadly, does not keep in contact from anyone in the congregation.

She was heavily involved in the church but after publicly supporting Scott’s innocence, she abruptly stopped attending.

I wonder if people in the church judged her for supporting her BIL?

There was a home invasion going on across the street. Laci was a victim of wrong place wrong time and so was Scott. Scott telling his mistress he’ll soon leave his wife and she will be gone soon doesn’t mean he killed her. It means he’s an Ahole and a cheater which lots of guys are

The two men who committed the home burglary across the street from Scott and Laci’s house really must have been high on drugs.

Considering the amount of police presence and media camped out on that particular street 24/7 they really took a huge chance getting possibly caught.

I can see how the robbery can raise some doubt - I mean if they saw Laci and assumed she would be a witness against them…..this is assuming they committed the burglary prior to Scott reporting her missing of course.

So, who did?

It's to increase their profile and raise money. Are there people in the prison system who were wrongly convicted? Sure. But there aren't enough of those truly just railroaded to keep these groups in business. So these organizations love to take on high profile cases that are decades old. They try to poke holes in evidence that was collected eons ago, and can make retrying the case very difficult, especially when the witnesses and the people who originally worked on the case for the government are long gone. It's a classic case of something that started with good intentions, but has become scam-like in order to sustain itself. See, also, the Southern Poverty Law Center.

There is another documentary about this case on Peacock. It is quite good and goes into more detail about the doubts that remain in this case.

Peacock has the interviews with Scott directly. I found the documentary on Hulu (not the new one on Netflix) to be the one that convinced me that he never should have been convicted.

First, Scott slept with Amber only four times before Laci went missing. I find it hard to believe that he would have killed his 8 month pregnant wife over someone he just started sleeping with. I do understand that the “lost” language is damning, but men like Scott make up all kinds of tall tales to tell women what they want to hear. He was making up all kinds of crap, like details of European travel that never took place, and so on.

Early on in the case, details were broadcast about his whereabouts, so it would have been very easy for whoever killed her to go dump the body there after the fact. They’ve interviewed the guy who saw Scott push his boat off the doc at the marina, and he’s say that Scott’s boat was empty.

They aren’t “in business,” they’re charities. Taking on Scott Peterson is *not* likely to win them a lot of donations, as the prevailing sentiment that he is in fact guilty is so strong.

Scott’s a bastard and no doubt about it. It seems very likely that he killed Laci and Conner. That said, I suspect it was the Amber Frey tapes and his general awfulness that convicted him. It’s troubling that the most recent ruling has denied the defense access to DNA testing for most of the items in question. I think it’s possible that Scott was very unlucky, and while he certainly had no care for Laci or Conner, he may not have killed them. And I’d rather know the truth.

Scott’s sister blew my mind talking about Amber Frey “Well, I don’t call it an affair. He just wanted a sexual. relationship.” Lady, what do you think an affair is? It’s easy to see how Scott became the kind of person he did.

One of the best things to come of the new attention is the reminder that murder by their husband or intimate partner is the LEADING cause of death for pregnant women. At a time when women are being stripped of their rights, dehumanized, and male power is being elevated, it’s a powerful reminder of reality.

Scott is just another Chris Watts except he was more charming and more of a classic narcissist.
