Here is how to transfer to any high school in the area

In FCPS, residency fraud is rampant and FCPS’s efforts to fight it are perfunctory.

I know of a family who owned and lived in a beautiful large home in Prince William but enrolled their kids in a McLean public by using an aunt’s address in McLean (kids lived in Prince William).

While that’s just one case, a quick survey of the cars in the kiss and ride at our elementary revealed:

- lots of MD and DC plates. Some other out-of-state plates could have been .mil, but then

-lots of sports stickers from clubs outside the FCPS area.

But maybe they moved? Maybe is a babysitter dropping off kids ? Maybe maybe maybe.

The more simple answer is: there is lots of boundary cheating happening, and FCPS simply would rather not deal with it.

Bingo. It's simple: Lazy bureaucrats don't want to lift a finger, lazy bureaucrats keep their heads down and don't want to go out of their way to cause any drama, lazy bureaucrats like the state/fed funding each pupil brings, lazy bureaucrats like to boast about stable or growing headcount not declines, and success in sports is bread and circuses distraction from all other deficiencies and graft.

A few cranks on a forum and a one-off news segment a few hundred people watched means nothing. Time to move on.

And no one will respect that school either way. Cheaters paradise.

There was an investigation and they were found not to have cheated. Respect the process people.

This was an internal process - and a motion for an external review was denied . There was no integrity in the internal process. When the director of student services , who oversees counselors, brought this up - she was swapped with the Annandale HS student services director - that is a lateral transfer/ swap for no reason - there was no shortage - she didnt request a transfer- it was a signal to anyone else if they spoke up

Hayfield defeated West Springfield HS 48-7

Two of their super stars-one already committed to Clemson with a full scholarship--didn't play. I assume due to VHSL eligibility issues.

Several of the school board members were not impressed with the rigor of the investigation. Others seemed completely out to lunch on the whole issue.

They will probably check in if a kid from that series of weaker schools gets injured.

Do you think anyone cares if they're respected when they're playing D1 at MIchigan or Alabama?

Overton left bc he won 2 titles and decided to help do the same at Hayfield.

To the Cowardly RACIST hiding behind the keyboard posting as “Anonymous”…… if you feel so strongly to suggest everyone write the superintendent and “tell her how we are disgusted our taxpayer money is paying for these Prince William county kids to attend school”. If you feel that strongly why are you redacting your real identity?

Sounds like a good gig for the out-of-state football players. I seem to remember something similar last year about the Edison girls Volleyball or Basketball team, but nothing every came of that.

1.Non homeless students are also eligible for free and reduced meals,
2.Non homeless students whose families income is considered below the poverty line may be eligible to receive food assistance also known as SNAP. Low income or students receiving free or reduced meals do receive a SNAP card in the amount of 120.00 over the summer to purchase approved food and drink items.
3. NO ONE is receiving random gift cards it’s usually from donated presents, same for Holiday food which is usually donated from non profits or charities.
4. Any student can go to any location hosting a backpack give away and receive items for school. They do not ask income questions.
5. Each school has an allotted financial aid/ scholarship amount for families facing undue hardships. See 1 and 2 above…to make sure students can play sports, attend school related functions, have the correct uniform or spirit wear to help the student focus on other activities to keep them busy and let them be a child at school.
6. I worked closely with the Fairfax Connector and dept of transportation. ANY student who shows their school ID rides for free, and free fare cards with balances are provided to any school that asks.

Do your research next time dummy

VA does not require a signed separation agreement filed with the court, therefore they are wasting their money on the entire divorce and 2nd residence.

All the admins who have approved this should be fired

Instead of your psuedo investigation findings made from whatever article you believed, you should enroll in one of the English and grammar classes available at Hayfield. If you're lucky maybe you can be escorted personally by the newly hired security guard and head football coach.

The Hayfield principal is heavily involved with the football team. He has told staff to stop gossiping or else. It’s currently so toxic at Hayfield.

Allegedly.

Truth. I will second the principal's message about no gossiping.

In other words no whistle blowing, keep the cheating under wraps, I bet that's the principal's message.

Here's some gossip, football isn't the only sport.

Hayfield with its state championship basketball program seeks to become dominant in multiple sports. I can see it becoming a regional sports powerhouse if that’s what the school’s admin desires. That’s obvious. But I personally don’t see the value of the hyper-sports-centered public high schools for most students. If a student wants to only focus on sports, the St. James has a brand new elite academy that’s all sports all day, with a sprinkling of state required academics on the side.

The St. James charges thousands for a deposit for sports and what financially intelligent person would pay that out unless their kid needs the extra coaching to boost their stats.

If students have the abilities to be successful in sports why would they not have the same ability in their studies? There is a better chance for scouts and scholarships from D1 schools watch an undefeated high school team, then some rich kids who paid to play to try to guarantee getting into a college that’s works with st James

Not necessary. I’ve had students where the families rent an apartment where they claim as their main residence for school residency and they supposedly stay during the week with one parent. Not hayfield but another school. Everyone knows they don’t actually live there even through they rent the apartment. - teacher

Technically anywhere someone receives mail makes it their residence. Most juveniles that split time with their guardians live at 2 residences.

Maybe they were only armed with frostys and fries when they were caught
