Any schools having luck with Virginia Tech?
|
Historic 2023 results:
Basis Independent Mclean ("BIM") 2024. https://www.instagram.com...Q1a2l4amxx Based on what?!? Are you joking? |
To the poster who claimed Basis has the best results in Virginia, I hate to break it to you, but Potomac has got you hands down. Your 2023 students got admitted to some good schools, but the over the top Basis is better than all the rest claims that pop up on this board all the time are just ridiculous and your link proves it. |
Did you even look at and compare the results? Basis outperformed Potomac, hands down |
Are decisions still coming in? |
By what measure did Basis outperform hands down? Potomac's matriculation results over the last 4 years are 48 total across all the Ivys, 1 MIT, 8 Stanford, 7 U of Chicago and a host of other top schools. (https://www.potomacschool.org/academics/college-counseling/matriculation). And of the 38 who've chosen to share their ED results on insta this year 9 are going to Ivys and the others are very competitive schools. The Basis list is very strong too (https://mclean.basisindependent.com/about/achievements/college-admissions/), but on last year's inta that you shared just 2 of 21 are going to Ivies, no Stanford, MIT or U Chicago in that group. It's the constant need to say you are better than everyone else that is just absurd and feels like you are trying to compensate for something. Be confident that you have a good program at Basis rather than feeling the need to claim you are the best all the time. |
Do Catholic schools do better in admissions to Catholic colleges and universities? How about Quaker schools to Quaker c/u? |
Basis kids are a different breed than their Potomac friends. No need to run to Instagram and brag about ED decisions which is why you’re trying to compare Potomac’s results with 20 instagram posts from last year. More than half of BIM seniors were accepted to a usnwr top 25 school last year. Potomac is not close to that. Sure, the top hooked legacy kids and athletes do quite well though. I’ll give you that! |
We’re at a DC charter and get this experience for free. |
I wouldn’t send my children to any DC charter schools. Even if specific charters have less disruptive student behavior than others, you’re still dealing with academically low performing classmates; poor to middling facilities; and a start-up educational experience. I don’t want my children to be educational Guinea pigs. |
I think some |
They are just starting to come in and Virginia Tech and Syracuse just released early |
Based on this photo from graduation the Basis Class of 2023 wasn't much larger than the 21 kids who posted their colleges on Insta.(https://www.instagram.com/p/CtAhtDit_Rb/?img_index=7) You keep claiming your school is superior to all others but there just isn't any evidence to back it up. Basis clearly provides a solid education with good college outcomes, but based on class size, the Basis website college list is also acceptances not matriculations and doesn't include number of students like Potomac does, but keep living in your delusion. |
Different, entertained poster. By this mark, the BASIS PP fits right in with you and so many private parents. Are you the PP who dug up a class photo from another school so you could post the link and show your school is better? What are you compensating for? |
What photo are you talking about? Is it up threat? In a different thread? Can you post a link please? |
