So why didn’t she adopt Michael? Why instead did her family employ a lawyer to set up a conservatorship when limits his financial independence and turns authority for his financial dealings over to them, does not make him a legal member of their household, and is typically only granted in situations where an individual has severe physical or psychological conditions? And then used that same attorney as his representative in business dealings? |
Did they handle his NFL money? Did they steal from him? |
He believed the conservatorship was akin to adoption and needed because he was over 18. Which isn’t true. I don’t expect an 18 year old to question that. He probably didn’t fully grasp the difference for some time considering the lawyer who they hired to set up the conservator ship was also handing his business contracts. |
DP but you definitely sound like the one who is worked up. |
If they didn’t mismanage his nfl earnings I have a hard time understanding why anyone thinks this is “clearly” anything. If he thought he was adopted and they didn’t treat him like family then that’s terrible and it hurts. But if they didn’t mismanage his nfl earnings or take from them, seems like it’s hard to argue they took advantage of him. |
Marty Singer is a lawyer who is also a PR fixer. This is well known, as the fact that he uses dirty tactics. |
You don’t think splitting the movie profits 5 ways is taking advantage? Why do their biological children deserve a cut? It has nothing to do with them. These people are grifters. |
$700,000 split 6 ways is change compared to the $35 million he made in the nfl. Do I think it’s wrong? Yes. Do I think that alone means they’re grifters with bad intentions? No. I think it hurts more emotionally. But if they’ve been estranged for years, we need to know more about that before taking sides. |
No I don’t. 5 way split makes sense. It is all of their stories. Not just Oher. Poor black kid becomes football star is not a movie. What makes the movie is how it all happened. That is all of their stories. |
And you know this how? He has been charged with something or there has been an ethical complaint. Based on me just checking there has not been. He is a good lawyer who fights hard. Good for him and his clients. Oher’s lawyer are not looking that solid at the moment. |
You don't want him to be a victim. You'll bend your mind into knots to make that couple/family not be the problem. |
. There is no estate. They are not dead. Do not use words when you do not know what they mean. Any kid can be cut out completely from a will at any time. So no this was not the reason. The reason was that this was what was needed to get past the NCAA. Adoption probably would not do it since he was over 18. And even if it did, adoption would take a long time. Conservatorship was probably done within two weeks. |
He is not the victim. He is a real bad guy. |
Welcome to any of those 'non-denominational' churches spun up since the late 80's. These people have been what we see from that segment of society for decades. |
So, what you are saying is that Michael is in the will just like their other 2 children? |
