Fairfax Murder

I'm sure you know more than law enforcement.

A former FCPS ES teacher was murdered in Fairfax County about a decade ago - shot by her husband. He’s never been convicted and has remarried. Teague.

I think you’re mixing up this case with the Parisi case. He was ATF and she was a teacher, but that was a murder-suicide.

I find that hard to believe.

Would you want to stay in that house where your wife and another person were murdered?

DP but I’m guessing police still consider it a crime scene.

The husband has been back in the house for over a week along with other adults (his parents?) and his daughter. It's no longer a scene being actively investigated.

Is the Au Pair still there or has she been given a new placement or returned home?

I can't imagine just picking up and starting with a new family after being in the house while your employer is murdered.

Seriously. And what family and au pair agency would agree to this? The au pair might have witnessed two violent deaths. At the very least she was in the house when the two people died. She's not a robot. We're not actually living in the Handmaids Tale.

Chill. Not that it would be required but some AP might not want to return home yet, so, would be good for them to have an option.

No and I was specifically referencing the Teague case.

A listing for that block and street just popped up in my Facebook feed. Creepy for multiple reasons.

I feel bad for the person trying to sell, but I don't think it's creepy.

I'm sure law enforcement will do the usual and let him get away with it.

Maybe law enforcement will determine he was acting lawfully in defense of his family and property against a psychopath.

Christine was the nicest and most generous person I have ever met, and I am deeply sad and shocked with this tragedy.

This is exactly what I thought about the husband. Not everyone plasters their face all over social media. Some have reasons for that.

He plastered himself and his dog. That's the weird part. Why have a presence at all if he's the one with the sensitive job?

I don’t know anything about this family, but because I have a job working with a lot of people and families (think along the lines of social worker) I always requested my husband do not post my photo or the kids to link us. When I had social media I had my photos with generic things online but never photos of my family. I didn’t want a crazy client to ever somehow find my family.

There are lots of reasons for this. I’m a performer with a stalker. My profile name isn’t real (but close enough for friends and relatives) and my photos are never linked to my family. Everyone knows never to tag me with my family.

This makes sense and has been discussed repeatedly in the thread. Think it's time to put issue to rest along with holiday cards and why someone would have a gun as part of job or have a gun legally in VA.

The real issues are:

Who killed Christine Banfield?
If it was Brendan Banfield, was it a crime of passion or planned?
What was the contact between BB and JR prior to the morning of the murders?

LE has not released more info as of yet, so those questions cannot be answered definitively.

If BR is cleared, is that something LE would report out?

I don't know if you mean JR or BB, but I'm going to assume BB. I think law enforcement would report that out as a part of their findings/conclusion of their investigation. Or they'll say something neutral like they don't have any information to implicate BB and their investigation is closed.

Yes, BB sorry. The longer this goes on the weirder it seems. Seems it would be easy to rule out any connection between the family and JR it there wasn't one.

I don’t think it is weird for the length of time. There are a lot of things that can take awhile. They may not have access to all the devices (phones can be hard if not impossible to get into if you don’t have the passcode, computers could be impossible to get into depending on if the drives are encrypted and you don’t know the pw), getting subpoena and search warrant results takes time, sometimes months. Due to the circumstances they are going to want to take their time and run down as much as they can to see where all the evidence leads them.

It would be fantastic if real life worked like the TV shows, but it could take little time for them to try and piece everything together or it could take years.

Possible, or he may be identified as the psychopath, time will tell.
