This happened to me in my 20s. Not a pediatric dentist. He was the dentist I saw that day. He changed my follow ups so he would be the dentist. He waited by the elevator to ask me out after an appointment. No kids involved.

I remember as a child my parents suddenly switching the family dentist and I was clueless as to why. Many years later I found out that he had started hitting on my mother. It also turned out he was a lousy dentist because all of us had a bunch of cavities when we started with the new guy.

My ds is in his first year as a vet and his older colleagues gave him the task of phoning the "parents" of patients to check up on them. I've been there when he does it and some of them extend the conversation for a looooooong time as they talk about non-pet related topics and ask my son questions about himself. My kids is professional and polite, but he says some people sound really lonely and a couple people have asked him to dinner. DS is pretty cute, though .
