Some dentists do this for every new patient. 
If he is interested, this is not the call you will get. 
I know because this happened to me…but when he was interested, he actually asked me out directly.

This happened to me in my 20s. Not a pediatric dentist. He was the dentist I saw that day. He changed my follow ups so he would be the dentist. He waited by the elevator to ask me out after an appointment. No kids involved. [/quote]
