Is your MCSL pool doing B meets this year?

I heard about this pool. All my friends who are members are furious.
They are not having any meets, A or B, and people are getting on wait lists for other pools. Bad management.

The kids of friends of ours swim at Carderock Springs. They are not too happy as the team is not participating in MCSL this year and by the time they were told it was too late to go elsewhere.

Its not too late to go anywhere. We just joined a pool this year and swim team. Just days ago.

It depends on the area. I heard that fees were already paid for that pool and then they announced no meets. Poor management.

I just looked at their website. The membership seems pricey.

But who wants to pay for two pool memberships?

CS pricing is normal near-in MoCo pools.

It's a bit more expensive than a few other pool near it but similar to some others. IT's too much for a pool without a swim team

I see. TBH I am in VA and to joint the club we go to is about half the price so it struck me as a lot to pay.

Intra-team meets are basically just practice. Sorry for people who are there. They must be the only pool doing this. Parents would be lining up in protest at our pool. Is this a very cautious pool? Why would they do this given the CDC says people can even go indoors without masks?

Some school districts in our area are saying no masks at outdoor recess now. The country is moving in a different direction.

How can anyone justify not doing outdoor meets? Was it a political decision? Honestly curious what type of people would decide this.

I am the poster your replied to. I would be pretty annoyed. We were summer members there for a few years while we were wait listed for our local swim club. Friends told us last year that they were very cautious with one family per area or the pool idea. Generally it struck me as quite international and fairly chilled out when we were there but I guess I misread the crowd!

For CS summer members they would already have taken payment and unlikely to give a refund based on swim teams no competing in MCSL.

It was not a decision made by the membership. There was no discussion and no public explanation. When people have asked, they have been shut down.

Isn’t it too late to transfer pools for swim team? There’s an application you needed to complete by 5-15 to transfer teams... if your swimmer ever swam an A meet.
