2014s would be doing EDP Futures I think which is probably more pre-travel, all the games are at the Soccerplex.

Aren't those kids still wearing diapers? Enough is enough soon 3 year olds will be playing travel JEEZ

Interesting hyperbole.

To take your points in turn:

1. No, 7 year old kids generally do not wear diapers.
2. Three year olds will not soon be playing travel given we just established that 7 year olds do not yet play travel.

He is excellent. He has coached ECNL 1 teams forever but has a quiet personality so maybe not intense enough or he wanted a change as KL officially or non officially co coaches every ECNL team or takes over the game day coaching . Our daughter really enjoyed him.

U11 (2011)
Matt Ney - ECNL I
Jason Travis - ECNL II

I just looked up Jason Travis 2011 ECNL II cause this is my DD age group. He’s currently the Potomac Soccer’s 2008G Blue Team coach. Does anyone know if he’s leaving Potomac to coach for BSC?

Is Jason being pushed out of Potomac? I noticed that his 2008 team has been struggling over the past year. Did they lose a few key players?

Where does Title IX come in? Look at the girls versus boys coaches. The girls have some coaches that coach 4 teams (Kevin L), 3 teams (Gary B, Shaun C), and many that coach 2 teams (Eric T, Noelle K, Liz R, Dave G, Nancy R and Trey L). The boys have dedicated coaches. Wendell coaches 3 (but very young kids), and 6 coaches have 2 teams. The girls have 4 fewer coaches - and this is just the top 2 teams and head coach listed for each age. The boys take all the resources.

Way to support these elite female athletes, Bethesda.

Let me also add that at the younger ages, some boys Academy teams practice 3x/week while the girls ECNL practice 2x. I've never understood how they can justify that from a gender equity standpoint, and we pay the same money. It's not publicly advertised but it absolutely happens and it is happening right now this season.

Don't have any clue, but I have a friend whose kid is on his higher girls team who told me he was leaving yesterday. I believe it was his decision based on what she said.

My guess based on coach movements between clubs, if a coach is pushed out, it's usually for a reason and the other big established club doesn't want to deal with it. Usually outsted coaches go to the smaller clubs or form their own clubs. Again this is only based on my personal observations

I haven’t met Trey, but was really impressed with his presentation at a senior dinner a few years ago. He was so positive and said such thoughtful things about each of the girls when they came forward to get their swag. The girls and parents seemed to love him.

With respect to the coach leaving Potomac, I have heard that BSC pays more. BSC is obviously a higher profile club as well, so it makes sense if the guy is ambitious.

Are the ECNL 2 teams worth the time commitment and travel with respect to college recruiting?

We have had friends who have done well with college recruiting on ECNL 2 teams - especially for many of the small D3 academically strong schools.

It may depend on the year and how strong the team is. There are a few years the ECNL 2 team are extremely strong.

I get the equity piece, but Title IX won't come into play in this private setting. That is a federal law about discrimination at schools/education systems.
My recommendation, vote with your feet/pocketbook and find another club that does a better job with gender equity.
