Bethesda really knows how to pick girls coaches, don't they? Sounds like he's a great fit for their culture and will get along just fine with the rest of the girls staff.
Where does Title IX come in? Look at the girls versus boys coaches. The girls have some coaches that coach 4 teams (Kevin L), 3 teams (Gary B, Shaun C), and many that coach 2 teams (Eric T, Noelle K, Liz R, Dave G, Nancy R and Trey L). The boys have dedicated coaches. Wendell coaches 3 (but very young kids), and 6 coaches have 2 teams. The girls have 4 fewer coaches - and this is just the top 2 teams and head coach listed for each age. The boys take all the resources. Way to support these elite female athletes, Bethesda.
Let me also add that at the younger ages, some boys Academy teams practice 3x/week while the girls ECNL practice 2x. I've never understood how they can justify that from a gender equity standpoint, and we pay the same money. It's not publicly advertised but it absolutely happens and it is happening right now this season.
