Anybody got an opinion on which are the best boys' coaches? |
| Who are Burke and Cryer? |
| Wow, 2014 kids will be in travel soccer this year. Damn I feel old. |
| Only one older year with a green team? |
Original poster only posted top 2 teams. Other years have green but since there is no MLSNext U18 team (goes from U17 to U19), Green is a top two team. |
| Same collection of massive egos as always. |
| Gary Burke and Kevin Layton should not be coaches. You have to wonder if BSC caresabout their image with their sideline behavior. |

some choice words from this page:
http://talking-soccer.com/TS4/showthread.php?p=2459643 That is not the case with Shaun Cryer. He will scream and stomp his feet. His antics on the sidelines are notorious against his competitors. He has girls on his sidelines crying and they leave the field not knowing what they did wrong A good coach will correct a problem and support the player so they do not feel like a failure. Mr Cryer does not do that And Shaun Cryer is not for everyone, and why is that? Well it is because he is an elite coach. (here comes more eye rolling and haters) But your feelings on Shaun aside, imagine it isn't Cryer and it's another elite coach (like who everyone would say is elite) Do you really think they are the nicest people, that need to do care and feeding around everyone's emotions and personality traits? Yes, ok, part of being an elite coach and player is caring for players and getting the most out of them mentally, but simplify it again a bit -- Elite coaches train elite players and elite players are mentally different than those who are not. Argue that all you want, but the elite players need different things and are not going to be phased by someone telling them they have a terrible touch or the pass was 3 feet too far. The elite player will say to themselves, "shut up Shaun I hate you for saying that, but I'm going to make my touch and pass better so you shut up and teach me the next thing" They aren't going to be upset over it the next day and cry to mommy and daddy. |
| Bethesda really knows how to pick girls coaches, don't they? Sounds like he's a great fit for their culture and will get along just fine with the rest of the girls staff. |
| How is Trey Livingston? |
Boys coaches aren't any better. |
| I’m shocked, *shocked* that the army of BSC haters has descended upon this thread, but from my vantage point the coaching slate looks very good. |
Stockholm syndrome works in sports too. |
sounds like exactly the guy I'd want around 14 year old girls. |
