Locks after 1 year is a great idea

I wish there was a way to filter just the ops posts. So in a 10 page thread you could click a button and see only the original post plus any updates or added info.

+1 for signing in but posting anonymously. I'd like to be able to have a personal dashboard or set of bookmarked threads I'm following.

I also like the idea of a temporary automatic ban on someone who is flagged a certain number of times in a day.

It really is. I never get the scolds who say “do a search!!” Have they tried to use that? It is only helpful for rarer topics where you can sift through the 2-5 pages of results efficiently. Anything more and it is a needle in a haystack full of repetition.

The other issue is that DC, and therefore DCUM, is the largest hub of international families outside of NYC in U.S. simply by our sheer diplomatic presence. All of them are fluent in English.

Its not so much psy-ops as people being assholes I think. But also yeah - there are a lot of foreign trolls on these boards. Especially in politics.

I’m the OP. I’m Italian-American and reasonable in Italian. I spends few minutes every day on Italian-speaking corners of the Internet just reading some to improve my fluency. I am like 99% certain that at the beginning of Covid, there were a TON of Italians coming on here to berate us ignorant Americans. I just know how they type by now. And now that the Covid situation has evolved, they’re pretty much all gone. Funny how that works.

Everything under the guise of "class" should be eliminated. We get it, you moved here from podunk and think you have to assimilate/impress (whom, exactly??) - but you don't! You do you, seriously - you will be much (MUCH) happier.
