OK. What is the reason? No reason has been announced (not from Alexandria publicly or to U9-10 teams in other clubs). If you know the reason, please enlighten the rest of us. |
The discussion was surrounding the U9-10 girls and Alexandria has pulled those girls’ teams out. Reading comprehension matters. |

If Alexandria really has applied to GA on the girls’ side and gets in for its first teams, I’m not sure what benefit there is to CCL for the 2nd etc teams. NCSL would work for them plus the club-based scheduling that was such a draw a decade ago would be useless because the top team would be playing in another league.
But also Alexandria is usually a day late and a dollar short on chasing leagues, so Alexandria going to GA may be a sure sign of GA’s precipitous decline. Alexandria taking Arlington’s leftovers, as has been the case on the girls side for a loooong time. |
I have daughters in both these age groups and while I don’t know the real answer from Alexandria’s side, I can tell you that neither they nor LMVSC have been incredibly competitive top teams at those ages in nextgen. While NCSL doesn’t publish those scores at those ages, it’s easy to see from the Alexandria tournament series that does that generally speaking Alexandria/LMVSC are more competitive with the NCSL clubs at that level and less so with the McLean/Arlington/Bethesda part of the schedule. |
| Having U9/U10 in NCSL makes sense. There is plenty of good competition there esp if A team from one club is aligned with A team from another club, B with B etc. Many of the second teams are quite a step below though, like BSC. Their U9G II is not competitive (yet). We are talking about 7-9 Year olds of course. |
U9G 2 is changing. Just broke off a third team. Not saying world beaters, and yeah of course 7-9, but a very different squad now. Though there may still be some confusion with what is a third team out under the name of 2 the way its being done with some tourneys and leagues. |
| U9 we had 3 or 4 A teams. U10 we had two. U11 we had one. It was strange and most clubs don't do it that way, but it worked out in the end. We got stomped in tournaments back then. Not so much now. It allowed some late bloomers to catch up. |
Where do you people get this nonsense? Alexandria has not applied for GA |
| LOL... Actually CCL is one of the better leagues for boys. ENCL basically is the elite kids. It's not replacing CCL. NCSL TOP is basically CCL2. NPL has also regressed. |

NCSL is not a good league. |
I wish it were true. My ds has to leave cc1 because it just want very competitive. NPL was better and now he’s in ECNL and it’s a match |
| CCL blows. traveling 2-3 hrs for a non-competitive match sucks. Who the f wants to go to Roanoke. Pretty sure they aren't known for quality soccer. |
Overall no but there are a few NCSL D-1 boys u14 and u15 teams that can consistently beat the local ECNL teams. |
You are a provincial moron and your kid is getting the game he deserves even if he did not get the parents he deserved. Don’t go if you don’t like it. Your priors will limit your ability to enjoy new environments. Don’t limit your kids in the same way. |
