Does alexandria 05 red prioritize ncsl elite series over ccl because they had a game they won the ncsl one and lost the ccl one 3-0 both on the same day

That shouldn’t be allowed. Talk about burnout

May 15, 2021; Yorktown VA - Good teams find a way to win even when their not at their best. This was certainly the case for the VAFC U13 boys on Saturday as they came out flat, surrendering an "Own Goal" and entered halftime on the wrong end of a 1-0 score. As this was the first time all spring the team has trailed heading to the break, halftime couldn't have come soon enough to make adjustments, raise the competitive spirit and impose their will on the visitors from Northern Virginia. To their credit the VAFC boys found their stride in the second half of play and will join Arlington, Ajax and VISTA as the only non Northern Virginia club left in the competition.

This spring the team has answered any of the critics out there by rolling in all competitions; league, tournaments and the first three rounds of the state cup going 9-0, scoring 41 goals and conceding 9. Different from their previous match up with number 1 seed Alexandria, the Great Falls team was big, strong in the air and in ground tackles and bottled up the high scoring offense of VAFC. "This was a tough match up for us as they were physically strong and committed a lot of players behind the ball." says coach Darcy. "Last round Alexandria kept the ball and pushed players forward which opened up the game and played in to our strengths of quick counter attacks and taking advantage of space. I am extremely proud of our guys that embraced our adjustments, took the challenge, dominated play in the second half and earned their place in the final 4!"

Midfielder Cameron Wizzard equalized ten minutes into the second half controlling a deflected ball off of a corner and volleying it into the side panel. After the tying goal, VAFC took control of possession and pressured the GFR defense continuously before forward Jackson Parker scored what proved to be the game winning goal with 10 minutes left in the match. "The composure that Cam and Jackson showed, both in a crowd of defenders, was tremendous to calmly finish into the corners past a big goalkeeper. A lot of credit goes to Evan Burke, that worked his socks off all day and served up a perfect assist to Jackson for the game winner." Center back Jake Nelson again led the VAFC defense with support from Brody McHenry, Danny Cox, Madden Francisco, Nate Carney, CJ Banks & GK Luke Cullison to secure the win and their trip to Fredericksburg.

Virginia FC U13 Pre Academy, in its second year of existence, has qualified for the Virginia State Cup Final Four and will face perennial power Arlington 08 Red on Saturday, June 5th at the VYSA complex in Fredericksburg - with a chance to reach the championship match on Sunday June 6th.
