You're blind but that's ok.

A club that has a racist name shouldn't have its members dishing out insults rooted in ableism.

Listen this really isnt the place or the forum for that. Frankly it's unnecessary.

Frankly the poster is unnecessary. But here he is.

Would any 07 players leave an ECNL team for a MLS next team, knowing they might only play in that league for 1 year ?

Possibly if they were good enough to have a chance of playing for DCU.

Would the ECNL team take the player back after that ?

If they were good enough - absolutely.

Thanks. This is what I was looking for.

Hard pass. We do not want that kind of driving for games in 8th grade.

the 2007 SYC and Alexandria teams will drop the MLS Next for next year. They will go back to EDP.

Is this confirmed? I heard that they would remain.

Lets assume it is confirmed since they are running 07 tryouts. Would any 07 players leave an ECNL team for a MLS next team, knowing they might only play in that league for 1 year ? Would the ECNL team take the player back after that ?

The clubs will argue that they will be given one additional age group every year., allowing the players to play MLSNext all the way to college. For those knowing McLean, Loudoun, and Arlington's experience with DA, it might be a hard sell...

Arlington succeeded although it took a lot of effort and the league folded literally weeks after they had been told they had succeeded. McLean did not. Loudoun might have done except for DCU moving in next door.

But I think SYC/Achilles/Alexandria have not been promised even that possibility. DCU has a huge amount of influence over what happens locally - and reading between the lines I'm not at all sure DCU wants anything other than feeder clubs at the younger ages. They want the best kids at U15 for themselves. And since they won't invest in their own youth program, they can't afford to have competition. Perhaps I am wrong. I hope so.

Actually this begs the question -- with so much soccer interest in NOVA, how is it that DC United is not on par with NY Red Bulls in terms of youth development opportunities? We used to live in NY/NJ area and our kids did some NY Red Bulls development academy/camps as kids. Why is DC United so absent from youth soccer around here?

Actually it raises that question, but it doesn't beg it. Begging the question is a philosophical concept - a specific logical fallacy where a statement implicitly assumes a premise which has not in fact been proven and therefore ought to be questioned. As an example I could point out that your statement itself does in fact beg a question. You make the implicit assumption that the level of a soccer interest in an area is a cause of, or at least correlated with the local MLS team's level of interest in the community. Is that truly the case?

That is what begging the question means. Excoriate me if you wish - I probably deserve it - but I believe the deterioration of our language is not just a reflection, but also a cause, of the deterioration of our society, and therefore should be vigorously opposed.

On to the question itself. The reason DCU is so absent is that it is a short-sighted organization which consistently fails to invest in its future, and therefore never has enough money to invest in its future.

Your answer to everything is if good enough. Always the easy answer that takes in no other factors. Clubs like to reward loyalty, play politics, hold grudges.

NP: You are correct; but like the other poster said, if you are good enough, these things don't matter.

Then you should know that schedules have already been posted on the MLSNext website.

Can you share the link to the schedules?

PP here. That's the first time I have made such a comment so you are confusing me with some other anonymous poster . You are correct - but that doesn't make me wrong either.

Some clubs have integrity - no need to discuss clubs by name - but some will play it straight and just take the best kids. Others will play political games as you posit. Nevertheless even, or perhaps especially, the political clubs want to win - and will take any kid back no matter the past if that kid is truly exceptional.

If the kid is just average for his current team then leaving is obviously riskier.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for and defense of linguistics. [I hope that previous sentence was satisfactory, but carve it up, if you must.]

Duh - Yes, I know THIS spring’s schedule. I do not know the fall schedule, which I assume is dependent upon who is in the conference/division. Trying to get an understanding for what I am committing to for next year.
