Liz Cheney, Trump's boycott XYZ company, demand Fox News fire xyz conservative who doesn't agree wiith Trump.... the list is endless.

Do you think Liberty U would not cancel a speaker if they found out that the speaker was gay or had antifa beliefs? give me a break. Why have they never invited Ivanka to speak at Liberty? I'm curious. Not reallly.

Colin Kaepernick, Kathy Gifford, that Arthur episode, any store that doesn't say "Merry Christmas"... I mean, the list goes on...

OP HERE- Please stop. I asked for no snark. WE ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE!! We are liberal- we just want a place that allows for dialogue!!!

Ironic. You trying to dictate how people respond to you.

The answer, OP, is most colleges and universities will have what you're looking for. If your child (and it's your CHILD who needs to be concerned about this, not you) is so put off by factions of radicals, most campuses have those too. Maybe trade school would be a better fit if they can't handle that?

Ironically, it is this type of response to OP's question that she is trying to avoid. You immediately rejected her point of view and then tried to relegate her kid to trade school. Do you see what you did there? Stop it. She's entitled to her view points and questions. You can respect that, choose not to answer, and move on.

We can go on all day, if you want...

Anonymous wrote:I am following this thread with interest. My two teens are at a DC private. Earlier this year, my DS had two assignments in one week to write papers (in separate classes) about his white privilege. We are super liberal, and our kids are pretty liberal too, but they say that they just don't want everything to be about race. So for them, they are starting to look for colleges that are not over-the-top one-sided.

I can top that. My kid had to write a paper on his white privilege. Why can I top that? He's not white.

But you want to cancel a bunch of colleges because why?

How is that cancelling them?

The irony, you are more conservative than you think. Liberals don't want dialogue, it is why they push cancel culture. CC is a product/tactic of your ilk not conservatives, own it.

I wonder where liberals learned it? Remember when anyone not supporting endless wars was considered unAmerican and against the troops? Before that, remember the ostracism you faced for not being sufficiently Christian/strait/capitalist?

No, I don't.

OP, we're in the same boat and I look forward to serious responses here. DC is at a Big 3/5 - we ARE a conservative family and are seriously considering a school like Hillsdale.

Got to keep the snowflakes in a bubble, lest they get any ideas of their own.

No, I just prefer that my child be educated, versus indoctrinated.

It’s just a Republican buzz word along with “woke” — the successors to “fake news.” Republicans shut down anyone who doesn’t blindlu follow trump but are masters of spinning their hypocrisy into attack on others.

OP, you would do better to ask your question without using the R talking points.

Really? You should spend 10 minutes on the Private/ Independent School Forum and see how many mommies are really in the second grade.

BIG 10, Midwest schools and any school with "Technology" in the name.

I’m in favor of most of the ideas but not the dogmatism (as a PP noted, I’ve had my fill of that from the right). If we don’t want this country to completely fracture, as it almost did in this past election, we have to figure out a better way. Pronouns are not the problem here. And the economic elite like those at area privates being smug and hyper about cancel culture is not the way. Maybe private s should be canceled, since they propagate economic disparity and school inequality, despite whatever scholarships they dole out. Siphoning kids away from the public school system is worse than being careless about pronouns or reading Dr. Seuss.

Agree with you, OP. Liberals here, as well, but the far left is too much. TBH, I don't think the middle of the road exists anymore. It's either far left or far right. Moderate seems to be a dirty word on both sides so not quite sure where to go.

I think any flagship state school would offer more diversity of thought given that they're more accessible to all. Private liberal colleges will reflect the same environment that you've seen in private schools these days.

Agree with both if you, but think the pendulum will swing back.

Yes to Purdue. Most of the other schools listed are too conservative for OP. Do not dismiss the Catholic schools so quickly, OP, and look at Niche rankings of most liberal Vs most conservative schools.

LOL, I love it...you always have great timing in these threads. You are the ultimate troll and I mean that in a good way, heads are about to explode.

Just wondering—is the roll tide guy also the chasing chicks guy? (Hoping there are two of you, but logically it could be only one).

Must you post the SAME thing on every single thread?
We know, Alabama is the VERY BEST school in every way, we get it, you don't have to try to insert this in every thread.

No, you are choosing to block an important part of their education that will enable them to become functioning members of the workforce.

Pro-tip: Fortune 500 companies are extremely “woke” and committed to diversity and inclusiveness. Trying to shield them from this reality will only hamstring their professional prospects.

Definitely the same guy, or his brother LOL it IS comical at this point. We ALL know your son will be chasing chicks and sitting in the Alabama stadium with 100K other people not wearing masks, and we also know he has an "almost full ride scholarship".
Congrats!
