Why? This makes no sense at all. |
Was she a monster in other ways? It’s hard to picture someone who would do this as being a nice person the rest of the time. Were naps allowed? |
Yikes. Did she jog with you? She sounds very disordered. |
| Frequently a moot point because they have a reason to be up...otherwise up by 9. They are busy and always lamenting not having time to do everything they want. So, with a free morning my oldest will draw or write and my youngest will program...or they both will play guitar, or even watch a movie together. |
This. Also my kids have chores and extra curriculars so they have to get up anyway. They don’t complain or think it’s weird. |
| When my kid was a baby the nurse told me babies and teens need a lot of sleep because they are developing rapidly. I will let my tens sleep as long as they need. |
Make sure to take the phone away so they fall asleep at a reasonable hour, too. |
Why is your teen going to bed at 11? Bedtime for us has always been 7:30. Won’t change unless there is a lot of homework. Typically only a few times a year it has to be later because of homework. |
Your TEEN goes to bed at 7:30? |
Yes he is 13 and bedtime will always be 7:30 |
|
No, didn't at all. DS and DD needed a lot of sleep to grow. DS had a constitutional growth delay.
Honestly, DD was so unpleasant for a while that longer she slept the better for me! |
Always? |
+1 I can't believe this poster has latched on to something a nurse told her 10+ years ago instead of looking at what the science shows. |
Right?? That is totally bizarre. |
NP. It doesn't make sense to those people who choose to ignore the science of sleep hygiene. The research is conclusive that maintaining a consistent sleep schedule is important to ensuring sufficient sleep. This applies not just to babies/children but to teens and adults. |
