They didn't do anything "illegal" but parents have spoken with other parents at Loudoun, McLean, BRYC, Bethesda, VDA and Herndon. Some of these parents steadily put down the programs at these clubs and tell them how much better FCV is in everyway possible. Once a prospect comes to a practice, Bobby is there to clean it up and close the sale. Maybe not illegal, but hardly ethical. |
Happy players don't leave. Exactly what is unethical? |
This. Even FCV parents know this to be true. |
Telling complete lies about programs, coaches, parents, and it's players. I would call that unethical. You are probably one of those parents. |
What lies are they telling player form Club A about Club b, C or D? Are you suggesting that a player from VDA was interested in McLean, Loudoun or BRYC and that a FCV parent was talking bad about those other clubs in order to get the player to come to FCV? |
| FCV has been doing this exact thing for nearly a decade and worse. At least their coaches don’t seem to be proactively reaching out to parents of players from other clubs or walking the sidelines of other team’s games (or at the time ODP) trying to talk to parents of good players. Hopefully FCV will get a healthy dose of karma with ECNL not letting them back in the league. |

Unethical...illegal. It's a laugh. If parents and players are 'seduced' by Bobby then goodbye. Every team listed is either connected to a sh*t club or has a sh*t coach. Pick your poison. If
The post listing details on each team was best post in this chat. Rest of the squawking has been pathetic. |
| ^And folks there is your classy FCV parent comment of the day. Wise to stay far away from these people |
I think everyone knows who this is referring to...... |
| How good is your kid? No college coach cares about the team they play for. Teams do get them in front of college coaches but parents that are worrying that much about the team have a kid who is at best middling d1 player. Play them where they enjoy the game. Quickest way to lose that middle level d1 spot is have them quit playing soccer because their coach is an ass (i.e. McLean, BSC) I know of several kids who have left ECNL teams for strong edp teams. My guess is those kids will have at least as good a shot at mid level d1 schools as those those who, in 8th or 9th grade, play for an a** and arent the star. In MD,celtic would be my recommendation for these 2nd tier clubs, followed closely by armour (they are in GA but I dont see that league as much above EDP) Both have coaches who actually care about their kids. Maybe, after them, Coppermine or FCGB who have strong 06 and 07 teams. By all means if your kid is the star on their bsc or mclean team stay there. |
Clyde coaches the McLean team now. I don’t think most reasonable people would call him an ass. |
| I apologize. did not know clyde was now coach. example wasn't McLean specific really. just general observation about realistic expectations |

Bethesda had 06 trapped players in the Fall for ECNL play so their results are misleading. They struggled against Celtic last weekend, couldn’t score, tied 0-0.
+1 Celtic
|
This is U14 thread. |
True, not to mention there were multiple players guesting with Celtic Union for that friendly including a player from the Loudoun 07 team. -2 Celtic. Trapped players are legal in ECNL and have been since the age of dawn.
Loudoun and Bethesda play each other this weekend. |
