“Ivies are political”. God that is stupid word salad. Please ignore this idiocy. I guarantee more polarized thinking at ND and Baylor than at Dartmouth or Cornell.

You deplorable traitorous capitol storming mouth breathers will never learn.

😂 we hit a nerve, clearly.

Yes, you ignorant traitorous POS have been hitting nerves with your racist sexist white supremacism for year and it came to a head recently.

Also, this is yet another thread where you don't understand the meaning of the term "liberal arts". It means the opposite of what you think.

Get your knuckles off the ground and learn something.

You know, just because a kid wants to go to college and focus on their studies instead of politics does not mean they are automatic racists. You are seriously making pp’s point for them.

Lol. The irony. It’s soooooo funny. “Ivies are political”. So stupid. OK, no prob, don’t go. I am happy to make PPs point for them. Proud, even.

What about PPs point that you don’t understand what liberal arts means?

Unfortunately, academics (more often in the humanities) have forgotten the meaning of the term "liberal arts." A liberal arts education is supposed to develop critical thinking skills to choose the best path in life, not to indoctrinate.

You think it’s “the academics” who have forgotten that? I suppose even if that is true, at least they knew what it means at one time.

Funniest post in the thread.

DP. I think it is pretty clear that you would never qualify to go to any Ivy League school so it is interesting and odd that you're so defensive of them. What gives? Are you just a bad troll or are you off your meds?

Hurl insults away. Does not bother me. I did not attend an ivy but my kids do, so I am experienced to that degree.

Now, answer the question: What about PPs point that you don’t understand what liberal arts means?

Is this the part where we’re supposed to agree with PP that the term “liberal arts” is a word salad lol.

OP I feel you. It’s disturbing and listening to it when they come home is hard to hear. Embracing the take over. I guess this is the society they will live in.

Not sure it’s worth engaging at this point but the number of schools where a kid could not study hard, if that’s what they wanted to do, because of campus politics is pretty small

(feel free to complain about the campus strikes, but those are clearly the exception. If you really want to avoid them then probably go to a larger school).

I guess if you don't want a "woke" environment you prefer one where people keep their heads in the sand and aren't willing to think critically or outside the box.

Go to a heavily pre professional school or large state university where you can live in a fantasy world where 4 years.

Is this the kind of revisionist history you seek OP? Then maybe Hillsdale college is for you.

.

Critical thinking and thinking outside the box is the exact opposite of wokeness. Perhaps this is why you were confused by my earlier comment

Wokeness is the epitome of ovine behavior. Perhaps it's practitioners engage in this behavior to maximize their perceived chances of getting laid.

Perhaps you're just fearful of looking at things differently than what a white male hierarchy has been telling us.

Baa. Baa.

Intelligent conversation on DCUM is hopeless.

I think it's an undisputed fact that most university professors are more liberal than the population at large. IDK what a "political" school is, but maybe the OP is referring to this...

+1. And the irony is, there is nothing more unattractive to most women than a so-called "woke" man.
