NP, not OP, but this is my question too. And yes, I'll say it - I am not interested in sending DC to a progressive/ liberal school. Liberty is not what we're looking for.

Any other thoughts?

It’s 2021 and we just had America’s first violent coup attempt. You cannot avoid “politics” without avoiding a central issue of American life.

OP. Thanks for trying to type cast me. No, not interested in Liberty which is also political. DC is sick of all politics and would like a college experience of the type I had as a 18 year old.

18 year olds in the US of A are expected to be educated to be voters as part of their responsibility to the country. Maybe your kid should move to a country where politics doesn't matter, like North Korea, China or Russia.

Civics classes do not = political indoctrination

Can’t wait to see the new woke civics class curriculum for k-12 all about evil America, the evil founders, the evil documents, and the evil history. The shame, the horror, the failures. We must overhaul the country.

Listening to all the woke whiners on the right is always fun.

What, you’re afraid your “ideas” can’t compete? That once your kid get exposed to reality, gets exposed to smart people, they’ll be changed?

That says more about you and about the mountain of lies conservativism today is built on than anything else.

“Ivies are political”. God that is stupid word salad. Please ignore this idiocy. I guarantee more polarized thinking at ND and Baylor than at Dartmouth or Cornell.

You deplorable traitorous capitol storming mouth breathers will never learn.

😂 we hit a nerve, clearly.

Yes, you ignorant traitorous POS have been hitting nerves with your racist sexist white supremacism for year and it came to a head recently.

Also, this is yet another thread where you don't understand the meaning of the term "liberal arts". It means the opposite of what you think.

Get your knuckles off the ground and learn something.

You know, just because a kid wants to go to college and focus on their studies instead of politics does not mean they are automatic racists. You are seriously making pp’s point for them.

*** Yawn ***. I am sorry...was so meeting me speaking?

There's always Liberty Univ for those folks that are concerned about exposing their kids to alternative ideas and lifestyles.

By moving to Canada? OK ...

Out of the frying pan, and into the fire! And that is before their widespread anti-American bigotry kicks in

McGill is more capitalist than Wharton. Ad it easily has excellent “diversity” in race, creed, and heritage being in Toront. And better yet, has merit-based applications that aren’t attacked for being racist.

McGill is in Montreal. You blew it -- really showing your ignorance.

You all sound just like your parents, btw . . .

it really just isn't the problem the conservative media makes it out to be.

My life long republican father probably regrets every day of his life that he sent me to a liberal arts college where I majored in government and god forbid came out with a different perspective than he had. And no I wasn't indoctrinated, but my eyes were opened to other considerations, perspectives and experiences and i became... perish the thought... open minded! THAT is the point of college. Learning other perspectives, doing your research, relying on facts not radio talk show hosts.

Even at that LAC, back when I was there, there was no political cultural environment to speak of, I just happened to major in it.

If OP wants less politics, maybe think more about major than school. Majors in engineering, computer science, other sciences, math, and business may work. But any work in the social sciences or humanities will explore perspective and interpretation, and with those come assumptions, opinions, and politics. It’s unavoidable. It’s what makes the human condition both interesting and frustrating.

Interesting, so being conservative means being closed minded? So I assume being a liberal means being open minded in your eyes? Your post actually reads as someone who is extremely closed minded for what it's worth which I imagine for someone of your ilk is not much.

If not Liberty, maybe Patrick Henry or BYU.

It sounds like you are trying to keep your child in some conservative bubble that won’t broaden his mind and make him a better person, however. Why?
