Does your teen/family have regular first thing in the morning bowel movements?

Given how gross and crowded the MS and HS bathrooms are, it would actually be great to develop this habit. I know my teen held it because the bathroom was filled with mean girls vaping. I guess if your kid is in private school, they can poop whenever!

Both my kids put themselves on a poop schedule in preschool. My 4yr old tells us “no one poops at school except Larla” - this was part of a discussion with him about the fact that he needs to ask an adult to check / wipe his butt so it doesn’t get itchy. Poor Larla - the girl poops at school once and now she is “the girl who poops at school”.

My kids would run in the door to poop after school. Yep- nobody poops at school!

Just wondering if that is common or if it would be better to develop a habit of going first thing in the morning. Thoughts?

What the hell? I have no idea when my teens take a dump.

With that said, I can say that I actually did have a conversation in which I encouraged my teen to possibly employ some habits that may make this a regular thing in the morning. But, it was in response to issues that she was having, mainly, that she's an athlete and this fall, she was constantly having to go urgently in the middle of a tournament. It would start with stomach pain in the middle of a game, then running to the porta potty in between games. It was stressful for her, so we talked about things like a big glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning to see if she couldn't take care of it in advance to avoid this. Would I ever have had such a conversation just to have my teens join me in my regular morning BM? Hell no. This particular conversation was a little amusing, but I will say, the very next weekend, she was pretty excited that she felt much better going into the tournament. Just saying.

This is anxiety. She was having anxiety in the middle e of the tournament. I'm shocked you did not pick.up on this.

Um. Four kids and one husband. No clue.

I thought one of the benefits of having teens versus babies is that I get to stay out of the bathroom business.
