Jeff Cup did NOT use YS Rankings at least on the boys side. I'm not sure what how they determined their brackets.

Do they use got soccer? YSR are more accurate, not perfect but got soccer is completely untethered to reality.

I don't think they suck - too strong a word for something of limited importance.

I don't think their ranking methodology is useful at all and des not reflect very well the competitive level of the various teams. YSR just takes every game played - plugs it into their formula and spits out the ranking. It is a more real time accurate glimpse into a team. Not perfect but I think it does a good job plus or minus about 10 spots up or down regionally.

Yes I was think the same. We were looking at the u17 top bracket for out u13 team...hopefully the u17 would give our team a good game but I doubt it.

Definitely some weird stuff. CCL teams being placed in top brackets? Maybe they are just throwing in some easy opponents to give teams a rest game.

Jeff Cup always places virginia teams better than they should be. They always have two virginia teams in the top division.

Jeff Cup always places virginia teams better than they should be. They always have two virginia teams in the top division.

I see at the 17s they have Beach FC in a higher bracket than Skyline FC (whom they lost to in the state cup). It also appears that Beach FC rates higher than McLean ECNL, Bethesda ECNL. Arlington GA, etc... that is almost comical.
