This. Exactly this. He literally SAID it. |
NP. A spouse would not tell about a classified mission, document, etc. However, if there was an imminent attack, they would get their loved ones out of town. |
Agree. Something is most definitely up. I was hoping it was plain old corruption - arms sales or a contract to Blackwater, but I fear it's more serious. |
There was an attack in Yemen (Aden Airport), probably by one of the factions not pleased with the new agreement. That could be it. |
That would make sense. If a war with Iran happens, the Persian gulf would be shut down for ships. The only way to get crude oil out of Saudi Arabia would be by air. Gotta keep those gas prices low, right? Otherwise all the trumpets wouldn’t be able to afford to put gas in the ‘Hemi. And his base would abandon him. He thinks he’s so smart. But he’s so painfully stupid. |
The military doesn't have to carry out an illegal or unprovoked order. Attacking Iran at this juncture would seem to fall into the illegal category. |
Not across the board. DH is at the Pentagon. His division prepared transition materials and did briefings. The pause was because of the Solar Winds emergency congressional briefings and the insufficient number of lawyers to review everything in such a compressed time frame, especially with holiday leaves. WaPo reported more briefings are happening this week, probably why your neighbor had to stay. Because of the delayed start and the staffing changes, it's been a little chaotic but it is happening. |
You are not this stupid? Tanker aircraft exist only to refuel fighter jets and long-range bombers. They do not export oil from Saudi. Or anywhere else. Oil that we don't really need. Remember? The US is a net oil exporting nation. |
Frankly this. I am ready to believe anything about Trump and Republicans, but I am positive the military is counting the days Trump is gone even more anxiously than us. you may find some nutjobs like Flynn (who, BTW, had no problem betraying the country by getting secretly paid by Turkey while being the NSA) but there are bad apples everywhere. the idea that the US military would support a coup d'etat to reverse the result of presidential elections in the US is nuts. the fact that we are even discussing this shows how deep is the damage that Trump did to the country. plus the GOP knows Trump lost and while guys like Jordan are happy to entertain the loss deniers on Fox or Newsmax, hoping to benefit from the support Trump has among GOP voters, they are cowards and not stupid enough to be at the forefront of a military coup. |
NP. Agree... but we the US does import some crude. Mostly from Canada, but some from the gulf. We export refined. https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php#:~:text=1%20The%20top%20five%20sources%20of%20U.S.%20total,Arabia%206%25%205%20Russia%206%25%206%20Colombia%204%25 |
Looks like you’re the stupid one here. You can use a tanker just to transport fuel, too. You’d need several of them to equal what could be transported by ship, but they’re so much faster that a dozen of them could probably move the same amount of oil a ship could move, in the same amount of time. It wouldn’t exactly be the first time a republican miss-used our military. |
Agree. My husband and I are both retired military officers. We both cannot stand Trump. His treatment of McCain was absolutely horrible. His treatment of gold star families is inexcusable. Yes, some in the military like him. But many don’t. I also agree about the damage done. It’s going to be hard to recover from this huge distrust between left and right. |
Crickets from the “rocket expert” |
A supertanker holds 2 million barrels. It would require HUNDREDS of heavy duty tanker. That's 84 million gallons. A KC-135 tanker holds 30,000 gallons of fuel (which is less dense than oil.) |
