trump has the Pentagon planning something big right now.

The American people do not have to fear an Iranian retaliation of Solemani's death.

tRUMP, family and friends may need to be fearful of the repercussion of their criminal actions. And that is a sacrifice the country is willing to make just as soon as there is a peaceful transition of power.

I think it's interesting that the threat is described as against "Trump and other officials" and not the United States, generally. Am I reading too much into that or might that be a meaningful distinction? The answer matters to Biden's plans to get the nuclear containment agreement back on track, no?

You honestly think Iran is going to rejoin this agreement with us? That ship has sailed. Fool me once...

Yes the US has zero credibility. We are just a lackey for other countries in the Middle East.

And then there's the fact that the Pentagon cut off contact with the Biden transition.

Damn... we’re about to have a coup.

No. We won’t. The military will support and defend the constitution. Every Military Officer I know despises Trump. Even the hard core Republicans. If there is a coup attempt, the National Guard will quickly squash it.

Ha, ha, ha. They didn’t. Can’t believe DCUM was full of rumors but Cap Police had no clue.

NG =/= CP

The coup was a threat to human life for a few hours. It was never a threat to the government.

It was a failure on multiple levels but it really did not last that long.

If we had a military coup, I suspect it would look an awful lot like the occasional military coups in Turkey. Which is to say, the military removes leaders who try to become autocrats. I know that in popular imagination, the military is full of mindless drones looking for a strongman, but the opposite is true- they are totally committed to ensuring democratic processes.

In the building - and an unlocked door away (on order of succession to POTUS):
1. Vice President
2. Speaker of the House
3. President pro tempore of the Senate

Also the VP-Elect

I’m aware, but the line of succession continues.

It’s not like killing all those people would’ve reinstalled trump.
