If you are stocking up in late Dec 2020, what are you buying and what are you unable to find?

What do you use that for?

DP - royal icing requires either meringue powder or egg white, preferably pasteurized. I can’t be bothered to pasteurize eggs and can’t ever find the pasteurized kind at the store so I use meringue powder.

All eggs are pasteurized. https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/Are-all-egg-products-pasteurized

Egg products are things like liquid egg whites. Whole eggs typically are not pasteurized.

Both my Safeway and my Giant were out of horseradish. I had to find some at Brookville Market.

Also, not food but I can’t find Clorox Cleanup anywhere except Costco anymore.

Have you tried Roots Market or MOM's? I've seen it in both places but it's been a long time so you may want to call first and ask.

I can't find brown rice anywhere
In my area, I noticed that the regular grocery store is carrying fewer luxury brands or pricey items (I had to order almond paste online)

Which area?

NP here. Harris Teeter in Only is limiting tuna.

I went to 4 stores to find molasses, none had meringue powder so I made royal icing without it this year.

I have not been able to find Shout stain remover spray in many months at many stores. Finally found spray n wash at the third store so I settled for that. Driving me nuts as I can’t see any reason for this shortage! Is everyone else’s kids staying home and just spilling stuff all day long like mine are??

Also weird things like butterscotch chips or white chocolate chips still hard to find—I think they converted all the lines just to make the most popular product since they have so many people calling out sick at the manufacturing plants.

1. Coffee filters
2. Powdered sugar
3. Hollandaise sauce mix
4. Frozen apple turn overs

Did not expect the intersection of people who use mix and people who enjoy hollandaise sauce to be the same, but here we are.

You can get organic rye and pumpernickel at King Arthur Flour. - they’re out of the non-organic.

Hollandaise is not as fancy as you think it is.
