If you are stocking up in late Dec 2020, what are you buying and what are you unable to find?

In my area, my public health friends are saying covid will be even worse in jan/feb-we are already one of the worse places in the US and field hospitals are filling up. I'm aleady laying low and planning to stay home even more if needed.

I’ve seen huge displays of sugar and all purpose flour. Self-rising flour is hard to find. We are a biscuit family and I am looking for that. Also King Syrup.

You can make your own self rising flour from all purpose.

There are limits on quantities of tuna cans
I can't find brown rice anywhere
In my area, I noticed that the regular grocery store is carrying fewer luxury brands or pricey items (I had to order almond paste online)

All the grocery stores around me in Va are good on baking products. Lots of sugar, flour, and even the much desired yeast.

Why are you stocking up?

For the most part I've only seen a continued increase of stock on store shelves.

Not seeing a lack of anything either. Was just at the store and they have two aisles of seasonal stuff including everything for cooking and baking. Lovely displays of plenty to reassure us!

We couldn't find regular english muffins yesterday. I also think if you order online you get fewer offerings than if you go in person.

Just lowly public health experts with specialties in infectious disease.

Yes, I know. Just not interested in the extra measuring and sifting. I can get 4 fresh hot biscuits on the table every morning with minimal mess and time.

Which area?

I have shopped extensively over the past couple of weeks, and the only thing that I couldn’t find was meringue powder (it’s used a lot for Christmas baking). All of the things that were in short supply last spring were well stocked.
