Husband leaving hospital early?

For those suggesting nursery...be aware of the fact that most hospitals that actually had nurseries have closed them due to covid.
Expect the baby to be in the room with you 24/7, whether you are at a baby-friendly hospital or not, and plan accordingly as best you can.
My first was born 5 years ago, my second was born during the pandemic. Huge difference between the two experiences.

Totally reasonable. Definitely have him for first night. I made the mistake of sending him home the first night with my third. Complete disaster. After that night I was fine.

Just posted. There are no nurseries anymore. I thought I could send the baby there. Nope. Nursery was storage room.

I have 4 kids (2 c-sections, 1 Vbac, 1st were twins), and it never occurred to me to have my husband stay overnight ever. I don’t understand the need for that at all? A new baby/mom at the hospital after being home during covid is a big change, let your husband be with the other kids until it’s time to go home.
