But there was the Bethesda tournament and McLean tournament to enter. Makes no sense for a "premier" team in the DMV to enter this tournament over the other two. No sense.

Honestly, it irritates me that they did. People here are snobs, but my view is that kids on less competitive teams should have the opportunity to have a fun tournament against equally (roughly) matched opponents.

Their U13s entered as well, but had to forfeit so we will never know, but I think the teams they were scheduled to play against were roughly the same level as them.

Looks like the Braddock u14s forfeited too. If you look at the results they've lost every game 0-1 even tomorrows games

They looked like they were scheduled to play Bethesda 09s, one of the best 09 teams in the area (and region)

Bryc didn't want to look bad against what is perceived to be lower level opponents. With covid still around they are worried about losing $$$. If their ECNL top teams don't look superior to other clubs B & C level teams it will expose the fact that they just aren't very good.

Ummm....no. Nice conspiracy theory, but it was due to COVID.

Interesting. Loudoun doesn’t play in state cup. Might it be cause they are a shit club with at least 2 ECNL coaches looking to leave?

Which BRYC coaches are looking to leave and how would you know? Sounds like rumor-mongering to me.

BRYC boys teams are competitive in mid Atlantic boys ecnl which includes former DA teams. Period. End of story. You can compare how BRYC teams did vs Arlington vs how other non ECNL teams did vs Arlington in state cup games.

U13 - 15th place out of 16 teams
U14 - 14th
U15 - 11th
U16 - 12th
U17 - 8th
U19 - 14th

That's not being competitive, only one team in the top half a their division and that's the last spot in the top half of the division.

Polish your reading skills. 2 loudoun ECNL coaches want to leave. Their love for the money impedes them to do so.

Thats about the same place they would be in NCSL or CCL. Their "homegrown" talent isn't very good at all. Its about time the hire a TD with some recruiting skills. Thats is their only hope.

Update: Spectators for the most part stayed in their cars or on adjacent hills to the fields. Some parents were behind the goals (which is a huge NO), a couple of coaches took off their masks, and some games were delayed for too many spectators on Sat am. But the tournament volunteers were not afraid to remind reams, spectators, coaches and referees of the rules in a friendly way.

We really enjoyed this tournament even though we lost in semifinals. Thanks to them for allowing spectators and for working hard for the kids to close out their season on a high note!

Ok let’s take the 11th place BRYC boys U15 ECNL. They have played every VA ECNL team twice and have tied or beat every local team at least one of the two times (tied McLean, tied Arlington, beat VDA, and beat Loudoun twice.) The only team they lost to both times was Richmond and those games were close 3-5 and 1-2.
