Sign up for emergency or respite care to see how it goes. My friend - also a single mom - did that and then fostered for a year. There were moments that were hard and moments that were glorious.

You have a choice of medicaid providers and its often hard to find a provider who takes medicaid. Ideally, kids stay with their same doctor.

You do not have to search if you don't want to. That is why I posted about the assured availability of Kaiser. My foster daughter has been going there for 4 years., whenever she has yet again been removed from her bio family.
