Really? I think it’s a caricature. The whole head tilt thing is way overdone. She’s trying so hard to get Thatcher’s accent and pacing, she sounds robotic and has a weird raspiness in her voice. Watch videos of Thatcher — she did often speak at a slow pace, but her voice wasn’t strained at all.

I agree Anderson is overacting. It's kind of annoying, and I've only watched the first episode!

Ooh, I liked her. Maybe the voice is a little heavy handed but I got over that pretty quickly.

It's their fault that Diana didn't know what to do and it's also their fault that Thatcher doesn't know what clothing to bring. How would she know they were going out traipsing around in the mud?

How naieve are you? Diana and Margaret were both notorious for how much they hated the royal family. You think there weren’t good reasons for that?

Really. You need to learn to spell the big words before you use them. NAIVE. The show, for better or worse, is a FICTION its not a documentary or a docudrama.

You are like those weirdos who watch soaps all day and believe they are happening.

DP. Of course it is fiction. But I mean everyone knows Charles and Diana didn’t have a happy marriage and he is married to the woman he admitted to having an affair with (can’t remember if he acknowledged cheating with her specifically but at the very least he did say he cheated and one can assume...).

Don’t know if Diana actually roller skated her way around the palace IRL but if so it’s pretty awesome

OMG. You're going to get on someone else's spelling when you spelled "it's" wrong? Laughable.

+ 1

Obviously the show is fictitious. But the executive producer/head writer has been very public about how much research goes into it to make it as close to accurate as possible. Only royal apologists think there is no truth or reality to any of it. QEII is the most down to earth woman in the world without a snobbish thought in her head. Charles treated Diana with love and affection and there was no reason for her to hate the royal family. That's what you think right PP?

Np I would encourage you to watch it in order. You will get more out of it when you have.
+1 I'll probably re-watch it from the beginning at some point.

I like her too. She and the Queen were daddy’s girls and are engaging in epic pissing contests.

The Princess Royal hates the show because it depicts her as the right bit*h she is. Honestly, she is now the one who carries the family patronages with her unending work. I think they could go give her a little leeway.

Spoiler alert with a contemporary reference to Prince Andrew.

I love how the show portrayed Andrew. He has always been so desperate to be in the spotlight.

The Queen wasn’t “daddy’s girl”. That was Margaret.

I absolutely love Helena Bonham Carter and the Princess Margaret story-line. It's interesting to see her go from number 2 in line to number 7. Unlike most people, she seemingly gets demoted as she gets older. I enjoy watching this especially in light of Harry and Meghan. She chose to stay and get pushed farther and farther out of the inner circle while he has escaped. I assume that is what episode 7 was trying to elude to after she is removed from the short list of Queen Proxies and her friend encourages her to leave for the church. For a show that says it will not touch on the current family dynamic, this season seems to have made an effort to do just that.
