No dog in this game, but Michigan has much better reputation than Emory. I think Emory is ranked high b/c it is in the south and USNews wanted to balance the geography. |
In undergraduate teaching they can ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Nobody think Emory is better than Michigan other than apparently a handful of salty Emory grads in this thread. Calm down guys your school is completely fine even if it's not the better one. |
+1 |
I visited both schools and found that Emory engineering students were far more prepared and focused than Michigan engineering students. Also, Emory has a better mechanical engineering program if that's what your DD is interested in. |
+1. LOL. That counselor should get fired. He is getting paid for that guidance? |
No one except US news right? |
Michigan is a safety school for most students at DCs school. |
In your dream walk, you probably walked into George Tech, which is a fine school for engineering. |
Name the school. I highly doubt that. |
Lol. Yes, GT vs UM engineering is worth comparing |
Wootton. The acceptance rate per Bethesda report is 50% |
No, this was at Emory |
I love Michigan. I turned down Ivy for Michigan. I think it's way underrated on DCUM and elsewhere, and I mean that for almost all subjects, not just engineering and business.
But I could see how someone might prefer Emory. One problem with Michigan is that it can be very rough for first year students in the more competitive fields. The engineering school is amazing, but it isn't exactly nurturing for young students. Exhilarating, yes. But not nurturing. Emory may be better on that score, especially since it has a small satellite campus for first and second year students. I'd still pick Michigan. |
