Agree, if the concern was lunches for the kids, call in Meals on Wheels or in this case 'Fed by Sleds'. I am concerned for kids who've been in situations where there has been no food in the house and/or no heat, and for those kids, I am glad they have the option of going in tomorrow.
If it were me, and I didn't need to send my child, I would call them in sick or home with family emergency. |
| I am so glad that my frustration is mirrored by so many. Thank goodness they've come to half their senses and at least let the children off the hook. Now they need to get real and let the administrative staff off too. I live on Connecticut and it is not yet passable by Metro bus. |

If it's about food and heat, why not have emergency assistance to provide food and heat for kids who need it, on days when school is not otherwise open?

That statement isn’t accurate because me being a student in DCPS I bring my own lunch to school I don’t rely on the my schools lunch program and other students at my school bring there own lunch as well or go off campus. The reason why were in school is unclear but it possibly have to do with trying to get us to learn more DCPS students cant afford to stay out of school long I know that because the longer breaks we have the more I forget. Its not because dc is poor because there is a lot of poor city it just DCPS is just trying to educate the youth and prepare us for the world with hope that we might succeed so that the youth can take steps for making that poor city your talking about better for the next generations to come to stop the cycle of "DC being a poor city".
