Think Schools will be Open Monday?

Prince George's County closed Monday.

Do you think the school districts that announced Monday closings will really open on Tuesday or are they just making day by day announcements? New to the area this year and trying to figure out how that works. Thanks.

Day by day - aside from DCPS, I'd look for most if not all major systems in the area to be closed through mid-week at least.

DH was out today to rescue my parents from their unheated home. The main roads are still bad and not clear. There's just no way that in 2 days they will be clear enough to support all of the cars and buses of everyone getting to work and school.

Just announced - DCPS opening 2 hours late. Unbelievable.

i'm kind of stunned by dcps. my dd goes charter and they are closed.

and the Federal Government is closed. Where is the logic?

Eh. The roads in DC (around me) seem plowed, and we walk to school anyway. It will be messy, but not impassable. As long as there's Metrobus service, people ought to be able to get around here. Obviously, faculty and staff who can't get to work will have to use leave. That's a hidden price for their otherwise inexpensive living arrangements outside the city.

Now if Metrobus isn't running most routes, I think we should consider the city less than effectively mobile.
