I can't even imagine. He was so sick all 2019 I doubt they filmed Black Panther 2. He was already in Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.

I'm not sure I even want to see a sequel without Chadwick Boseman. I'm sure they'll try to rewrite it to focus on Shuri and the Dora Milaje. If so, I hope they take a good long time and not try to rush anything through production, even if it takes years after the end of COVID. I want a female-led Black Panther 2 to be EPIC.

If Michael B. Jordan's character hadn't died in such a epic way - they could refocus the second film on him.

From a production standpoint though, the lead actor of Spartacus for two seasons also died of cancer, they recast the role in season 3. I'm sure Disney will make sure the film is as epic as the first, if only so they can take home another multi-billion dollar box office, but I sincerely hope they find a way to permanently honor Chadwick Boseman somehow.

I don't want them to recast T'Challa. Honor his death and let Shuri take the lead. There is precedent for this in the graphic novels.

Maybe. Shuri's 16 in the comics. There hasn't been a Marvel lead so young yet and I'd be worried it would automatically steer the film towards a younger audience - especially under Disney's control.

Fortunately the actress who plays Shuri is 26 -- so she could easily play an older version of 'herself'.

Spiderman is in high school.

Fair. I like to forget Spiderman: Homecoming exists but I can't argue its there.

Get your screenings on time, folks.
What a tragic loss of an immense talent.

Of course, if he was only 38 when diagnosed, the typical screening guideline (age 50) would not have saved him. Colon cancer is striking younger and younger, just awful.

If you are black, have predisposing conditions (diabetes, Crohn's, troublesome digestive system in general), and/or consume a heavily processed Western diet (aka SAD), get screened early and often.

I agree. My mother passed away last year from colon cancer. I had my first colonoscopy at age 50 three days before she died. They found a polyp that was removed. I will now go every three years for one.

Please get a screening. Especially if you are 45 or over.

This year blows.

This celebrity death hits hard. What a talent. He was so young!

My mom died of colon cancer as well. She was young but not quite as young as he was.

2020, you suck.

Everyone is soooo sad and supportive now but look at the comments on his old Instagram photos. People asking him if he is on dope, men telling him to eat and go to the gym, women saying he isn’t attentive anymore. He was literally bullied by his fans while he was dying, because he chose to keep it private. People suck....

They didn't know. They were worried about him and expressing that in their own way. This is terrible.

He meant so much to those of who watched Black Panther in theaters. Who went once, twice, three times. Bought the DVD. Rented the movie again even though they saw it so many times.

Really 2020? Anything else you want to throw at us?!?!

He made a point of supporting children with cancer while he was battling his own. I think I'm going to spend the weekend crying now.

Me too. This is hitting so hard.

Its been an hour since I learned the news and I still feel like throwing up. I don't know what's wrong with me.

My colon cancer must have been diagnosed about the same time as his, and this news has me just shattered. He had so much to offer this world. I totally understand and support his decision to keep his battle private. I do have a hope that he planned for his legacy to provide encouragement to others to insist on early screening if you have symptoms & if you have no history or symptoms (like me), don’t put off recommended screening!

Same here. I couldn't even finish reading the article without tearing up. My mom (age 60) has stage 4 colorectal cancer. Between my mom's situation and his death, this makes me want to schedule a colonoscopy ASAP even though I'm only 30.

This tweet just ended me. I'm going to do this for Chadwick. Going all the way to the finish line.

This is lovely Disney. Truly. But we need more than prayers, we want remembrance.
