If you don’t need the childcare, is the responsible thing to keep your young children out of school?

Does she have a job? Maybe she needs to get work done from home?

And maybe she’s just an entitled me-me-me person.

Well we know you’re for sure a jerk. Glad we figured that out!

I’m in complete agreement.

Leave the school and daycare spots for those who need the childcare to survive (work to feed their family).

You realize that many people have to pay to save spots, so you’re suggesting they pay and not send their kid, despite there being no outbreaks at DMV centers.

No, you don’t know that, PP, and you have figured out nothing.

Given that you’re making assumptions about people based on their childcare choices — yeah, you’re a jerk.

No outbreaks YET. And yes, that is precisely what I’m suggesting. Pay or don’t pay but using a daycare spot when you don’t need it is prolonging the virus and putting more people at risk.

Those of us who can afford it should do the right thing for the community.

School and daycare are two different things.

It’s been months PP, but sure — I suppose outbreaks could SUDDENLY occur.

You also don’t seem to get it — if you don’t pay you lose your spot at basically all places.

No, I’m not a jerk, PP. You’re saying there is no way the woman in question is a selfish, entitled woman? You’ve never known a selfish and entitled mother? Lucky you.

You think it’s over and we aren’t going to have any more covid outbreaks or spikes?

Maybe you could stop making assumptions about people you don’t know. I know — novel for you, I’m sure.

I’m saying daycares and preschools that take proper precautions appear to be safe. It’s been 4 months with no outbreaks in the DMV at these places, despite many of them being open the entire time.

In this context, school as childcare (no one else home to watch the child). At least that’s what I think the poster means.

Not a scientific study, but a large number of datapoints. Appears to point to essentially no cases at responsible preschools.
