Totally agree with this assessment. Billions is a squandering of very talented actors. The characters on Succession are all so awful but somehow I can't look away. And the nasty dialog is so witty. Love the Tom/Greg dynamic.

Billions jumped the shark in season 2. Succession just keeps getting better.

Like the Breaking Bad/Ozark discussion the answer is clear and muddled only because the lesser show is enjoyable and fun but really the two shows aren't really in the same conversation.

Succession is a very very very good show. Billions is entertaining but won't be 'remembered'. Just like Ozark will fall to the wayside while Breaking Bad will be immortalized.

I think the difference is that Billions is a little . . . campier, maybe? More fun. Even when people are being ruthless there is a campier energy to it.

Exactly the above. Succession is just a bummer and so stressful. Though I too love Siobhan. Billions is just fun.

I'm a PP who prefers Billions. Though this is true too. Billions seems to be going off the rails, and Succession has gotten better. But man, it is still stressful.

Having only gone through first two seasons, I can say Billions is surprisingly good. I expected it to be absurd, but it is surprisingly well written.

Both. Love those shows and can’t wait for them to come back. Billions later seasons aren’t as good but the first few were great.

I enjoy both shows but Succession is operating at a much higher and more difficult level. Billions accomplishes what to sets out to do, but is nowhere near being in Succession's league.
