Succession is incredible. Season 2 is phenomenal!

I like Billions but got a little less excited after a couple of seasons. Both shows are good but Succession is {chef’s kiss}.

Billions had a good first season, minus the absurd storyline about the trans analyst Taylor -- I cannot suspend that disbelief given what I know about Wall Street culture.

Maybe I am too close to it but I completely recognized some of the storylines, which derived from stories about hedge fund excesses that featured prominently in the Times and elsewhere during the aughts.

What makes Succession better in my humble opinion is that each character speaks differently. In Billions everyone is making cultural / pop references constantly as if there is only one voice, speaking through them all. And it gets old.

Succession has more genuinely unique as well as laugh out loud moments (eg, the raccoon in the chimney).
Billions tries too hard to create a “culture” of these bankers - I got so bored by it. And I thought the main character was unrealistic.

I love Succession. The characters are really well fleshed out and there are fun surprises along the way. I can’t wait until the next season!

I almost stopped watching after one of the first episodes included a main character being intolerably cruel to a kid, but I’m glad I kept with it.

Succession - but I agree that they are very different and you will have to try them both to know. In my opinion, Succession keeps getting better and Billionaire has been in decline since season one.

So funny. He drives me nuts. Of what I've seen, he's gone from an ass to a wimp. I haven't been able to get far into Season Two.

And the show has ruined Pride & Prejudice's Mr. Darcy for me! Ha!

Billions was fun for like 2 seasons.

Never good, but just fun.

Last two seasons have been horrible. 1 or 2 pop culture references are fine, but it seems like the entire show is just a never ending quest to get the characters to quote a song or eat at a fancy NyC resturant

Succession. Succession is an actual good show, like the Sopranos. Billions was a lot of fun first season but has become super cheesy. Even first season, it had super silly moments, like the Metallica concert.
