Some MD Restrictions Lifted Tomorrow

Ground. Hole in the ground. Hard to type in the dark so excuse the spelling.

And while I am not one of the people who believes that everyone must not set foot out of doors until there's a vaccine, I do find this "die for the economy!" advocacy very unseemly. As though people were there for the economy, instead of the other way around.

How very privileged of you.

Stop distracting from the point that you and other liberals are now saying we should be just like a totalitarian, human rights abusing state with no free news - so no we shouldn’t trust anything coming out of China.

I don’t see what the Republican talking points about numbers of deaths has to do with this. As an Independent, I’m telling you liberal Democrats that how you are now idolizing China is not a good look. This is what people wedded to a political party are blind too - hypocrisy. You actually want me to be upset that the Ds and Rs are squabbling over how many people actually died from this but you want me to hold
China as a shining example of what a state should be? China?

If I wrote this in China, I’d already be in a hole in the group!

Who is idolizing China?

My friend posted pictures of the Ocean City boardwalk that she took today, and it is jam-packed, with few masks in sight. It will be interesting to see what the next few weeks brings. I do not think it will be good news.

We need to know who the traitors in our midst are. And if they out themselves, I’m going to make sure the whole world knows about it.

Lady. Covid isn’t being spread by Susan from Bethesda, who’s been sequestered in her McMansion with her attorney husband, driving to Frederick County to get her hair cut. The spread is in the nursing homes and the people who work in them, many of whom live in tight quarters amongst other essential workers. Get the nursing homes under control and the outbreaks will sharply decrease.

I am against shaming, but you're wrong. 3 families on my little street have been socializing all through the stay-at-home period, and some have parents that going in to work every day. I've seen parties and gatherings while walking my dog in my Bethesda neighborhood.

This is how the virus spreads, PP. Your comment shows how little you understand about it. Nursing homes are infected because workers LIVE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, and exactly like my neighbors, live their lives among people who do not take enough care.

This isn't about rich or poor. There are thoughtless and careless people everywhere.

Not sure what zip code you live in, but the Covid numbers are extremely low in Bethesda zips. The people on your block likely understand risk. Also, the goal of the stay at home order was not to overwhelm the hospitals and Suburban is not close to capacity.

There are a lot of tecent threads in the health forum On Moco which detail the numbers - including by data scientists and how Erlich’s plan doesn’t make sense , he isn’t using a committee of medical experts or scientists and lacks transparency of basic data. For example, 90 percent of deaths in the last week are nursing homes reported by hogan. For the past 3 weeks , hogan has been executing a plan to address nursij g homes (this is the second phase after strike zone) but Erlich’s plans and analysis seem to act like it doesn’t exist. It’s near mathematically impossible to meet Dome of Erlich’s metrics bc of nursing home situation. No matter what anyone does the path is set. they don’t share info on hospitalizations and earlier in the week gayles was quoted as saying he didn’t know. You will see from the comments in the thread, it doesn’t matter your political affiliation. lack of plan, transparency on data, and way to address the serious nursing home situation in Moco is frustrating.

Of course they are. People in Bethesda are able to stay home and have other people deliver everything.
