Any professions you’d avoid dating? Why?

This would include most Ds.

I know my GAAP and GAAS pretty well so I think I can handle a CPA/Tax Attorney
.

I want to debit your credit. One hour with a good tax attorney (he must be a CPA or LLM as well) and you will be begging for more (and paying for it as well.)

Cops. My family member’s personality transformed after being in law enforcement for a few years.

I went out with one while he was just in law school and I thought I was going to flunk out of college because I could not stop thinking about him long enough to study!!!! I ended up sharing him with my sorority sisters and none of them could keep up.

I hooked back up with him when he was an associate at a Big Law firm and he was even better than before.

We would be at dinner somewhere and he would lean over and whisper tax terms in my ear. We would have leave right that minute so I could have him. I still get shivers when some brings up international income repatriations.

Anyway, his lifestyle was too wild for me and I settled for plastic surgeon.

After you learn IFRS you can date a French tax attorney. Now THAT is hot.

Avoid anyone whose working hours are not compatible with yours. As as a litigator, avoid other contentious types. Go for someone with lower drive who will make you happy. Then work to keep him happy too -- that's the harder part.

Thanks. I have tried lower drive types and I am not attracted. I like men who are leaders professionally and in a relationship. I am not contentious in my relationships in the least.

Are you the OP?

Yes.

I avoid dating female lawyers because they are arrogant and needlessly argumentative. Can’t leave their lawyer attitude at work.

Dealing with the scum of the earth every day will do that to you.

For me personally, I would avoid anyone who’s profession essentially requires me to participate extensively, or which gray towels my freedoms in significant ways.

What the heck does that mean?

Yes, unless I truly believed they have exceptional talent but that has pretty much never happened.

That’s your choice and I respect it. I leave my work at work and rarely engage in any arguments in my relationships. In fact, in the process of my divorce, our marriage counselor called me out for avoiding confrontation.
