Anything with a lot of really extended travel. I don't mind shorter trips - up to a week-ish on a semi-regular basis, with occasional 2-3 week trips - but I would not be happy with my significant other gone for months out of every year.

Engineers, I dated way more than my fair share. While they were all really smart, I found, anecdotally of course, that a lot of them may have been on the spectrum or at the very least had freakishly low emotional intelligence. Social skills lacking.

I ended up marrying one because I still find that nerdy arrogance kind of endearing, but the empathy is lowwww. My next life, I'm steering clear.

Wasn't it Tom Hanks or Robin Williams that married the family nanny?

I think it happened with a bunch of celebrities.

I went out with one while he was just in law school and I thought I was going to flunk out of college because I could not stop thinking about him long enough to study!!!! I ended up sharing him with my sorority sisters and none of them could keep up.

I hooked back up with him when he was an associate at a Big Law firm and he was even better than before.

We would be at dinner somewhere and he would lean over and whisper tax terms in my ear. We would have leave right that minute so I could have him. I still get shivers when some brings up international income repatriations.

Anyway, his lifestyle was too wild for me and I settled for plastic surgeon.

I married a former tax attorney/CPA. I think he'd appreciate this description!! (Probably a different guy, however.)

Why "former" tax attorney? Was the lifestyle too wild for him?

I had similar experience with a young lady years ago. She was a CPA and really tried to please. Is there a reason for this?

How come no one mentioned hedge fund manager? They are narcissists.

so maybe lawyers?

Lots of waiters, then . . .

I find lawyers to be some of the most dull, critical, and generally horrible people on earth. I would not date one.

Signed, a lawyer

I dated a female litigator for about a year and while she was beautiful and successful every discussion seemed to turn into a debate or an argument that she had to win. She admitted that she had a hard time separating work from play so she at least recognized it but I tired of it.
