Would EDP be so bad, we should give it a try

I think it’s because you won’t be playing top teams. EDP isn’t going to provide what ECNL can to the girls side. It really is that simple. Parents want there players to play against top competition and not enough exDA teams will move to play in EDP. Top players will leave because they need the ECNL longevity and stability.

If ECNL is not accepting DA clubs why wouldn’t ex DA clubs form a league and compete in it?

I think that is the idea-to form a new league of ex-DA clubs and keep the competition similar-whether it be in EDP or some other league.

The question is-do you take a chance on the new fanged idea or stick with ECNL which is tried and true for over 10 years?

Is this is what Arlington is going to do? They can’t just go backward because Arlington Red already is the top team in the league and DA was totally different. Most DA kids have been together since they were little. Cannot imagine everyone leaving.

If clubs can hold their rosters together then I can see it working in the short term.

But, the clubs and whatever the league is will have to act fast to show that they will be both no less than what DA was but also visible with some differentiation.

What is working in favor of this league getting off the ground is that nobody can hold tryouts.

ECNL should have accepted a large percentage of DA clubs asking to get in. They could have ended this by accepting nearly everyone and then kicking out the underperforming clubs later on.

Shocking how arrogance leads the decisions.

There is some DA teams that are being excepted into the ECNL like the Hawks and there will be others they’re just not excepting everyone.

The Hawks were accepted last year.

Unfortunately it would make no sense for ECNL to accept FCV when loudon is next door (or if they claim they are based in Springfield when BRYC is next door). Arlington getting into ECNL when Mclean is next door also may not make sense.

I think an EDP league for everyone would probably work out better right now.

If you stick around for EDP, your daughter will be playing with less than half of her current teammates, who will all be playing ECNL. We have a freshman and cannot cross our fingers that EDP will give her the opportunities next year or the year after that ECNL would give her. It sucks, but we are exploring options. I know others are as well. Best of luck to all of you. It is a real shame.

Everyone will stay and no one will leave..except the ones who are good enough to make Mclean.
