All my friends are SOCIALISTS

Anonymous
I'm not a Republican or a Trumpster.

I'm a moderate. I'm a Biden, Klobuchar kind of Democrat.

I'm just not a SOCIALIST. My friends around here are outwardly SOCIALIST.

If you have any friends or family in the armed forces then you would realize that they benefit heavily from the government run medical systems that is the VA Health System, Military Health System and TRICARE.

Ridiculous point. It’s not even close.

No it's not. I'm not the pp but am from a military area and every female high school graduate who didn't go on to college wanted to marry someone with that sweet Tricare.

In fact a navy guy posted a video of a water spout a couple of years ago that went viral in my home area. He amended it with the fact that he was single and had Tricare so all the hot ladies should hit him up. My cousin, who wasn't able to afford insurance, was dumped for a guy with Tricare by his baby mama (and yes we are white.)

Those sweet military socialist benefits are incredibly popular.

Yes, that and the billions of dollars of subsidies given to farmers. That’s not socialism either...

That’s quite a leap. She may be a regular Democrat, who are practically considered scum by their own party. It makes me sad that the Democrats have become so rigid, and open Only to their own rhetoric. People of all stripes live too much in their own bubbles (thanks to modern tech).

OP, if you are a Dem, you need to learn how to march in line, or become an independent.

The Democratic Party considers Democrats to be scum...? Scratching my head about this one.

NOT scratching my head about the troll OP, which is a troll OP.

Joe Biden is the Democratic candidate (that's fine with me, by the way). Want to try again with your concern trolling regarding "regular Democrats" being cast out of the party?

I think you might not understand socialism that well.

Takoma Park and Bethesda are two sides of the same coin.

They are both over the top self serving groups of people.

Far far far left in Takoma park in your face righteousness.

Limousine liberals self centered segregated a$$holes in Bethesda.

When you chose to live in one of those 2 places you get what you pay for.

You're single, right? And have cats?

As a matter of fact I earn well into the 6 figures and I’m married with children. One cat but I don’t like him all that much. I think my tax dollars should be used toward different things than where they currently go, and I’d happily pay more if it meant better lives for people. I guess that makes me a cat loving, lonely, miserable old crone of a socialist.

Trope of socialist being crones, cranks and granola vegans has been reinforced, often without reason, since the beginning of the 20th century. You sound just like any broken record that never got past the red scare. Which was hysteria, that in the end violently enforced persecution of free speech and some minimal fight for worker's rights in the U.S. Socialists today are neither miserable, nor old nor crones, yet you repeated the same stereotype while in your post you recognized the youth of the Socialist friends you have and the youth of those politicians they like. Today most believe that social equality and more even distribution of wealth will be demanded by young people, people in their 20 who are sick of "old crones" such as baby boomers, Moscow Mitch, Trump and Biden(yes, Biden and Klobuchar too) living like Kings while they are unable to get a job that can pay rent. Are you proud that you are not actually pausing to listen to what these friends of yours are saying? Yet, you are accusing them of the same. Most of conflict happens because people never actually listen to what people are saying. You are coming back with a retort to prove you are right, and they might be doing the same, and nobody actually hears anything other than what they are saying.

Not sure what being a socialist really means. Yes, TP is filled with silly types who are completely out of touch with reality. But, depending on how you define socialist, our entire rural economy is based on socialism, from perpetual farm subsidies, to US Postal Service subsidies, to telecom subsidiaries, etc. Similarly, our entire senior population survives based on socialist ideas, from social security to medicare.

The rich in the U.S. are the true socialists here. I find it ironic that those that are called socialists in the demeaning way, are in fact never the recipients of actual wealth equality!
But, owners of huge conglomerates, business decrying socialism are the first one to get billions in hand outs! The biggest scam they perpetuate on the poor is that socialist is bad for the economy! Yet they are all effing Keynesian lovers when the money is to make them more money.

PP is not alone. I know a few “older” socialist / socialist Democrats. BTW PP You know you can submit more money than you owe. Also, you can donate as much money as you want to charities of your choice. The biggest hurdle for me with Socialist Democrats is that they (Or tell the little people to) wait for government to do something more often than just doing what can be done person to person.

I find it odd that 9/10 of the ones I know are white, wealthy or come from wealthy families. I don’t know what the actual make up is. However, I find it off putting. They will give us fish as long as we follow orders, but never teach us how to fish (‘cause we’re all too stupid). I’m not against Nee Deal like programs, I just don’t believe they are the silver bullet that SDs make them out to be. Those programs create new, sometimes unintentional, problems.

They have the luxury of identifying as socialist thanks to the comforts of capitalism. Perhaps a few years Venezuela or Cuba would change their minds.

Socialism: state owned breweries providing a choice between two or three brands and a couple of variations -- when they are in stock.
Capitalism: the endless array of IPA brands and variations at Total Beverage.
