Did you get swollen glands in your neck? Sorry if this is a repeat....when did you notice a fever?

Yes. He’s been with me since day 1 of my symptoms. He can’t go to his dads because he is twice as sick as me. This is when being a single parent sucks the most. No one was willing to help with childcare (don’t blame them) but many friends bought us supplies. He is better and won’t be tested unless he gets sick again. Would love for him to get antibody test when available. He mostly had GI symptoms and also some eye discharge that we thought was pink eye. Yes, caring for him for about 4-5 days was very hard. If he wasn’t a fairly mature and independent child for his age or any younger I do not know what I would have done. No plan if I need to go to hospital. Ex is being cared for by his wife.

I don't undestand why your ex's wife, who was healthy, couldn't keep your son alive while you both were ill.

Curious Op, what career field are you in that you weren't teleworking/business closed down that you were still in proximity of your asymptomatic(?) coworker?

And when did your son's preschool/daycare close down?

Did NJ not clamp down right away (here in the DC region everything pretty much shut down Mar 13/14)?

I last saw my coworker on the the 13th. She was fine. The incubation period was 2-14 days. I have been working from home for weeks. She just happen to test positive first and I had a lot of interactions with her. I assume I got it from my son who got it from his father.

It’s crazy for you to feel guilty about how you cared for your son while you were seriously ill. You kept him alive. You’re amazing. Do not spend one second feeling anything but proud of yourself for making it through.

So glad you’re feeling better!

OP, just wanted to thank you so much for your detailed list of day-by-day symptoms. It's so helpful for those of us who haven't had it to try to prepare for what we are up against and/or try to figure out whether some earlier illness was a mild version of it. It sounds truly awful and I'm so glad that you are starting to feel better. Good for you!

I've worried too about what will happen if my husband and I both get sick. Not your same situation, I know, but this illness isn't really something you can prepare for, especially if your child also has exposure. Thank you so much for posting here!

Great question.

They felt swollen when my throat was really sore. I remember it felt like my throat and neck hurt when I swallowed. Thank god sore throat is gone. I also have had a weird, dry feeling headache. Not a migraine. Feels a bit like a sinus headache but further back? I’m prone to headaches so could just be my body.

OP, I hope you're over the hump. Take care of yourself.

Have you seen this video of breathing exercises by a doctor in London? JK Rowling and Chris Cuomo have both mentioned doing these exercises to help get their lungs clear.

This is probably an extremely dumb question, but did you try any home remedies like chicken soup, tea, coffee, green tea, lots of water, etc.?

I am a NP who has been sick this week. I am doing well, but when I was feeling sickest and couldn't get out of bed I realized that although we have lots of food in the house, much of it is stuff my kids don't know how to cook: dried beans, canned goods, lentils, odd vegetables, etc. We are low on the kinds of foods they'd normally fix or themselves, like eggs, cheese, chips, sandwich makings. Fortunately DH is well, but as soon as I felt okay I taught my teen to cook rice. If your kids are littler I'd suggest stocking up on breakfast cereal, granola bars, and snacks with packaging they can open and eat by themselves. Make sure some of that food is somewhere a little kid can reach, just in case your kid is hungry and you can't prepare food or get to the kitchen.
