Can you send a link? I can't find it. |
I'm not the original poster, I'm PP saying I would update because I live in LA. I don't know where they got the info that there would be a press conference. |
I can't find anything online. Oh well, thank you. |
It's worse than this. When he went to the hospital in Bronxville, they had no clue he had coronavirus. Also, one son is at Yeshiva, and he has signs of coronavirus and test results are pending. Four schools in Westchester are closed. He took Metro North to work for a week while sick without knowing (a crowded commuter train). Into midtown. He's in intensive care. And he had no travel or known exposure to anyone with coronavirus. My parents live five minutes from him. I just posted about them. Anyhow, if you had to compare the NY geography to NY, I would say that he works near Metro Center, he lives in Bethesda, and his kids go to school in Silver Spring. Everyone in between those areas might have (or not) been exposed to him. It's very troubling. |

Can we come up with a list of essentials to stock up on? Or is there’s one already or a link to one? I just added about $1500 worth of items to a Costco cart. Just wondering if there’s a list with which I can compare mine before I place my order.

Are any school districts throughout the closing yet? And for how long? Have you read or learned first hand if employers are closing up shop or asking people to work from home? And for how long?
I feel like I'm stressing out about the logistics more than I am about catching the virus. I want to know how other states, schools, employers are handling things, if at all. I work for state government (no cases in my state right now) and we got a very generic email today telling us the Dept of Health is monitoring things and to wash our hands. That's pretty much it. I just want the school district and my employer to tell us the plan, so I can prepare, if need be. |
| And speaking of stocking up, for how long? |
Not quite. NYC area is super spread and commute time8distances are much much greater. I would say that it is m ore like from Metro Center to Baltimore where he would live and his kids would go to school in.. hm.. Laurel? maybe. Because to get out from NYC to even White Plains takes forever, while you can hop on the metro here and in under half hour you are in Bethesda, even faster by car with after hours traffic. Upper Westchester is even worse. Having said that.. this is horrible, So sad for him, so sad for his family. It is devastating. If he only knew then he would not commute and expose others, unlike people who know and are in isolation and knowingly sneak out like the person in Vermont. He is totally a victim of circumstances here. I am so sorry for him. I hope that he will come out of this without any issues but he needs lots of prayers now. It is sad that sick people have to keep working because the work pleasure and work environment is such. Ha But aside from that, |
This is terra incognita. Nobody can tell, nobody can truly predict. I guess this all will be shaping as go. Once the whole country goes into survival mode, many things have to shift and many priorities change. |
Especially those who are currently out of job.. between jobs etc.. and either can not or won't be able to go back to work for a while.. what about mortgage payments forgiveness or delay for those who will be in counties that will shut down for weeks or months? If any?... Many people can not buy stuff because they live month to month and all of the sudden spending extra on food is just choice between housing and food and survival.. |
